Memoir by George W Bush to be published in November

And yet, I'll bet he got better grades at Yale and HArvard then you got at Yale and Harvard.

How would you know? I could actually get into either school without being the grandson of Prescott. Face it, if his name were Bob Smith he's be a grocery bagger. And likely a bad one at that.

Leaving aside the partisan rhetoric(why is it unsurprising that conservatives and libertarians defend Bush, while liberals attack him over this), it actually should be interesting to see how Bush defends his decisions, what mistakes he admits to, how he views the events of his life, and the story of his quitting drinking(which is much more difficult than some people realize). You do not have to agree with a president to think that their memoirs will be interesting reading. In fact, the opposite is to an extent true.

As far as whether Bush wrote it or not, he wrote it as much as any president writes their memoirs. He probably did not write most of the text, but he certainly will have crafted all the stories.

Actually, if a libertarian defends Bush they are, by definition, not a libertarian.

In short, no, it won't satisfy crazy conspiracy theorist kooks. Are you jumpin on the birther movement too ADK or you just a truther?

I highly doubt this is true. I am an avid reader and also a full time student and can't manage to finish more than 3-4 four good sized books a month. I can't imagine running a country and reading close to 8 books a month. He was reading 2 a week? What kind of books...?

I average 2 books a week no problem, even when I was working 12 * 7.

I read clintons memoirs, Bush I's, Even Obama's, Reagans, etc. I'll read this one too.

Oh and I wont act like a partisan hack mouth foamer over it either.

...good for you?

2 is a bit different than 8.

Either you are seriously confused, or you are moving the goalpost. 2 books a week is 8 + a month.

Also remember, he wasn't running the country... Cheeney was. Bush was always either busy planning his next vacation, or on vacation, at his so-called ranch. He was on vacation 33% of his presidency! In fact, he was on vacation for the entire month of August, the month before 9/11, and he refused to come back to work even after Tenet personally visited him on his "ranch" to warn him of evidence that Bin Laden was about to attack us!

He actually could have read a ton of books but, his lack of intellectual curiosity always got in the way. :doh

I don't like Bush either, but...do you have anything other than mindless talking points?

Oh, I too could get into the most super fantastical school ever, if only I wanted to...

Satisfy? Only if he told the truth. He lied to us so many times when he was in office, I doubt he'll now tell the truth. His ego couldn't handle it. He's always right. Remember, God talks to him.

I don't think he'll come anywhere near the truth. It will probably be a big softball that will barely touch on any sensitive issues. There will be no surprising revelations. But, like I said... we shall see.

I had no problems reading a couple of "good sized" books a week while going to college full time and working part time.

...and your daddy was a Senator.

And your grandaddy was Prescott Bush. And your daddy had all sorts of legacy pull. You mean a trust fund baby from one of the most politically connected and powerful families on the east cost got into Yale? I'm shocked I tell you. Shocked. Not in America.

To you, and all the Bushies, they are talking points. But, to the rest of the world, these are what we call the truth.

Answer me, has Bush ever answered any of the questions I raised in the OP? They are not talking points. They are issues that Bush has never addressed.

The truth? Come on truther, you and your movement don't want the truth...you want Bush to say what you believe simply to make meaning to your conspiracy theorist lives. You're not different then the birthers. Why aren't you demanding Obama to release his birth certificate ADK. Join your fellow tin foil hatters.

Its absolutely hillarious watching your rabid hyper-partisanship on display in lumping Redress in with a "Bushies" simply because they deal with substantive issues rather than your crack pot conspiracies and your overblown talking points rhetoric.

Redress is akin to "the bushies"?

No, I want him to address those issues. These are not the same as the box-of-rocks birthers. Obama has released his birth certificate and I suspect you know it. To say he hasn't is to be disingenuous... at best. Bush has never addressed these issues. Never.

For the 760789563476179601th time, here is his birth certificate:

When someone categorizes these Bush issues as "talking points" yes, I lump them in with the Bushies. The ignorance is the same.

 ADK is the gift that keeps on giving. :lamo

Seriously d00d how long will bush be on your brain? :ssst:

Maybe we could have a pool. How many personal attacks will Rev make in one day?

whining. yes, that's the right play. :lamo

Is this thread about bush's memoirs, or is it about your obsession with bashing a former president?

When someone categorizes these Bush issues as "talking points" yes, I lump them in with the Bushies. The ignorance is the same.

They are talking points because they are, well...talking points. A couple things you can't get past:

1) Bush is gone. We don't do any good by keeping worrying about him. Even conservatives have mostly abandoned him now what his presidency proved to be a failure and it's embarrassing to defend him.

2) Most of your claims are guesses. They may be true, I even suspect some to be true. They are not provable, not going to be proven, and keeping harping on them serves no piurpose.

Let's look at your points:

Also remember, he wasn't running the country... Cheeney was.

Unprovable at best. Cheney had a lot of input, but it's unlikely he made the big decisions.

Being on vacation for a president does not mean they are not working. Far from it, they are always at work. Leave this kind of hysterics to those who want to bitch about Obama playing golf.

He actually could have read a ton of books but, his lack of intellectual curiosity always got in the way.

Like it or not, he was smart enough to win 2 presidential elections. Further, there is evidence that you cannot refute that Bush did read a fair amount. You have a supposition based on no evidence.

Do not get me wrong. Bush was the worst president in my lifetime, and he did untold damage to this country. There are plenty of things to complain about Bush doing. Legitimate things. But it needs to be done in a rational manner, not hysterics.
