Torpedo blast likely sank warship: SKorea minister

SEOUL, South Korea – An explosion caused by a torpedo likely tore apart and sank a South Korean warship near the North Korean border, Seoul's defense minister said Sunday, while declining to assign blame for the blast as suspicion increasingly falls on Pyongyang.

Defense Minister Kim Tae-young said an underwater explosion appeared to have ripped apart the vessel, and a torpedo blast seemed the most likely cause. Investigators who examined salvaged wreckage separately announced Sunday that a close-range, external explosion likely sank it.

If it turns out that North Korea attacked and sank the ship, then this was an act of war, and we must react accordingly. Attacking North Korea is beset with many problems, which is why we must at least consider the use of nuclear forces. At any rate, we need to make sure that North Korea will never rattle it's sabres ever again.

But, IMO, the recent bill should have been on the bottom of any list.

I did not and do not agree with the approach taken to the issue.

Damn it. Give it a ****ing rest. I would like to see a discussion here, without all the damn trolling. This thread is not about Obama and taxes. It is about North Korea's sinking of a South Korean ship. Please stay on topic without being disruptive, or get the **** out of the thread!

He plays hoops real well, seems to like golf, has a nice smile, is a helluva teleprompter reader, and can turn on the "black minister church" voice at will. He's very good at acting like he knows what he's doing, he's exudes confidence without a basis in that confidence, has a nice family, and can say two diametrically opposed things in the same breath and without the media or his political supporters knowing.

But back on topic - what exactly are we to do about this? Sanctions? Blockade? Another stern talking to and more complaints to China? Best thing to do is nothing at all because that's exactly what will happen.

I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.
