Torpedo blast likely sank warship: SKorea minister

OK, I see your point. I don't remember the Civil War. Let me ask Navy Pride about that one.
I don't think he's THAT old.

Close, maybe.

I am an old fart. In fact, I am as old as dirt, and Navy Pride has me beat. LOL.
Nobody's as old as dirt...well, I suppose it depends on the age of the dirt.

But it could be really young dirt.

Like, 5 years.

LOL. Anyways, back on topic -> We are in South Korea because North Korea invaded it, and they would do it again in a New York minute, if they saw the opportunity. On top of that, they look for every opportunity to cause mayhem, like in the sinking of the South Korean ship. And don't forget that it was North Korea that got caught sending nuclear technology to Iran. For these, and many other reasons, we should take them out.

My concern is we don't have the supplies/money to start something with a third country.

the korean war was remarkable for the speed of its advances and the suddenness of its reversals

in june of 50 kim's daddy invaded super suddenly and overwhelmed all opposition

within weeks the enemy were at the heel, pusan

the pusan perimeter held

then macarthur pulled off his brilliant amphibious operation at inchon, halfway up the peninsula on the west side

he got behind the enemy

just as suddenly and swifty as kim surged south, we were now advancing north, and within weeks we were back at the parallel

truman made the decision to go and we invaded the north

within weeks we were at the yalu river, the border with china

then one night in the winter of 50 one million chinese suddenly invaded

super fast south raced the armies til they were soon back at the parallel

there, momentums halted

we entered negotiations which are still ongoing as the north is an impossibly notorious negotiator

fyi

And MacArthur wanted to bomb the Chinese troops massing on the border and Truman being the coward that he is refused the request and the Chinese invaded at full strength killing 10s of thousands of our soldiers.

yes, the relationship between the prez and the general was thorny and controversial

truman fired mac and replaced him with ridgeway

North Korea is like a gigantic cult compound. Shaking them up would likely be a good thing for future generations.

Doing it today? No thanks. It can wait, they aren't going anywhere.

NK will not be touched by the U.S. as long as China is protecting it.

NK will never be touched by the us so long as china protects it

the mere suggestion of offensive action against kim is ludicrous

meanwhile, aggression BY kim is...

well, kim is ultimately completely unpredictable

even hu can't control him
