North Korea's entire existence and relevance in this world depends upon the United States getting involved... so I say we ignore them. They'll dry up and whither away. The last thing we need to do is give them a reason to become relevant. If they take action against any other country while we're ignoring them, we either attack them and waste them, or we go in with a coalition and China at the front of the pack to depose the existing regime. But acting on our own makes no sense tactically, strategically or politically.

Since NK thrives off attention, why would we give them the one thing they want and need? Doesn't make sense to me.

He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute.” - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

At any rate, we need to make sure that North Korea will never rattle it's sabres ever again.

    Article is here.
How about open season on any North Korean flagged vessel?.... military and civilian? (also known as a Naval Blockade)

I really do hate the idea of having to pull out the nukes….. China might get involved and end up spilling my drink.

Why couldn't we just support an effort by the South Koreans to assassinate NK's nutty leader? Kill big Brother and his henchmen, then try to dismantle their 1984 style society.

Bringing out the war guns, nukes or not, would just wind up killing a lot of innocent people. It would be infinitely better to simply and quietly do away with the few who are causing the problem in the first place.

    very, very pertinent

sorry the beating he must take is so relentless, but that's part of being president

    carry on with your discussion
It was a South Korean ship, so what difference does it make what Obama was doing? Don't you think a better question would be what was the South Korean President doing?

Plus the fact that we still have a lot of American service men and women in South Korea. If the north should attack or invade, Americans will likely be killed. If they shell Seoul, Americans will definitely be killed.

    because it looks bad

it is no coincidence that we have a president who goes to iowa to chase a whale already harpooned and the whole world falling dangerously apart

from iran to korea to israel to putin to hu to pakistan to the mexican drug cartels, under obtuse, oblivious obama the united states has virtually NO foreign policy

take away his ESCALATION of afghanistan and what remains besides empty platitudes about reaching out and changing america's image

should kim ever decide to GO the only thing standing in his way is the power, prestige and will of the united states

with obsequious obama in the oval office, the million man inmun gun (4th largest military on earth) could be in pusan as rapidly as last time

That's pretty harsh. Obama is bad, yes, but not as incompetent as Bush. That man couldn't tell his head from a hole in the ground. Obama is more competent that Bush. Now granted, that's like saying Obama is drier than the ocean; no real information. But in terms of incompetency; unless we put Palin in office I fear Bush is going to hold that title for some time.

As for North Korea....well that's South Korea's problem.

What do I care about Iran or Israel? **** them both. And none of that speaks to Obama being less competent than the last monkey we put into office.
