So then, I'll aske you one more time, what total amount are you getting in "rebates" this year? how much is bush, and how much is obama?

    I know what, I am getting. 0$

And, no, I don't consider a rebate a "tax cut" whether its bush or Obama. You took that money from me.

The Internal Revenue Service issued new guidelines to reduce withholdings for income tax
Yeah, that looks like a tax cut. I got $15 extra in my pay check. I just didn't know what to do with all that extra money. Bush had the real tax cut.

So stimulus money borrowed and paid out which adds to the national debt is counted as a 95% tax cut. Wow... so I can count a $10,000 credit card spending spree and say I cut my spending by 95%, since I'm only paying 5% payments towards the borrowed amount.

    Sweet!
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

Now I'm no accountant. But lets discuss this.... He borrowed our money in this stimulous, to take some of said money and give it back to us?

I also wonder if anyone wonders, He gave banks our money so they can lend it back to us with interest?

So if I understand the rightwingers in this thread, Obama isn't allowed to think about all options to fix our deficits and he's definitely not allowed to say he's thinking about all options? Sheesh, you righties go straight to hyperbole as if the Pres. had stated he was implementing a VAT.

We got 800 dollars for the 2009 tax year, and that was the result of stimulus. Virtually every family with adjusted gross income under 250k a year got it.

Oh OK, if a tax cut enacted while the government is running deficits doesn't count, then we can go ahead and agree that the two Bush tax cuts would not count either. After all, let's use the same standard here.

Well, if you look at what has actually happened, yes that does carry some weight. Certainly you don't think that, with our current load of debt, we can lower income taxes if VAT are added.

actually the adults are discussing the possibility of a VAT and its ill effects it would have, in addition to Obama not ruling it out.
