Gun rights advocates rally in Washington, Virginia

No one has convienced my that the citizenry has a right to keep and bear arms. That sounds like an opinion to me. The second amendment was about militias
The law says otherwise.

None of this stuff calls for the ellimination of the 2nd amenedment.
No... it illustrates The Obama's desire to ban guns, which directly contradicts the supposed positionHe has on the 2nd.

Is my "fiction" any greater than yours? The whole idea that Obama wants to take away your guns is also fiction.
Except for the links that I provided that illustrate the exact opposite.

Once again, there are conflicting links.

The last statement Obama made, the one he made while running for the office he now holds, says no.

So until he says or does otherwise, what's the problem? What do you want to do about it? He's proposed absolutely no restrictions on guns. He's actually expanded gun rights. What more is there to say? When and if something changes, you be sure to let us know.

This is dishonest. He is not "expanding gun rights" he signed a credit card legislation that had a national parks carry law, to which he did not comment on.

You are not welcome in any of my conversations.

If you post publically, I will respond. You made a claim once again that was not quite truthful.... Obama is not "expanding gun rights" as a matter of his policy, but did so this once as a matter of Compromise.

it's not YOUR conversation, it's a public conversation. :2wave:

My part of the conversation is with someone else, not him. He can post all he wants.

If someone else wants to discuss this, I'll do so. Not with you.

Once again, there are questions youhave not addressed:

How do YOU explain the dichotomy of His positions?

You have NEVER taken exception to a politician clearly having two seperate positions on an issue and/or lying about his position in order to get elected?

How do YOU explain the dichotomy of His positions?

Only he can do that. I can speculate:

- He changed his mind.
- He thinks the federal role is different from the state/local one.
- He's being a politician.
- Any or all of the above.

Does it matter though, as long as he sticks with it?

Sometimes, but it's a little late for that. He's already elected. He's up for reelection in 2012, I suggest you consider his record in his first term at that time.

For a politician, actions speak louder than words, don't you think?

Sticks with... what?

Sometimes, but it's a little late for that.
Convenient cop-out.

Sticks with... what?

Not taking your guns.

Convenient cop-out.

Convenient maybe. But what exactly do you want me to do about this? Tell me what you want. Do you want me to oppose any attempts by Obama to take your guns? Done. As soon as he tries, let me know.

Not taking your guns.
Well, yes, lets hope -- but it -is- cleear that, after He was elected, He illsutrated that He does want to take them but recongizes that He, as yet, cannot, and then, by extension, if He has the ability to take them, He will.

Convenient maybe. But what exactly do you want me to do about this?
Show a little consitency, and not give The Obama a pass for doing exactly what you took others to task for.

So do you consider Obama a pro 2nd amendment President? :ssst:

Fine.

So he won't take them, yet secretly wish he could. What's the difference?

Show a little consitency, and not give The Obama a pass for doing exactly what you took others to task for.

A pass for what exactly? He hasn't taken anyone's guns. How about you show some consistency and acknowledge that so far he's doing exactly what you want.

Fine.
So he won't take them, yet secretly wish he could
Secretly? There's no secret about it, as evidence by the links I posted.
And, its not a matter of "he won't, but "right now, he cannot".
Why do you continue to try to play down The Obama's openly stated desire to ban guns?

What's the difference?
Between someone who wants to take your guns but, at this moment, cannot do so or someone that doesn't want to take your guns, period?
Self-evident.

A pass for what exactly?
Either you havent been paying attention, or this is is a dishonest question.

Why do you continue to try to play down The Obama's openly stated desire to ban guns?

Why do you continue to play down his openly stated promise not to?

Either you havent been paying attention, or this is is a dishonest question.

Answer the question. What has he DONE that requires a pass?

And what exactly do you want me to do instead of "giving him a pass?" I already said I'll join you in opposing a gun grab, if that ever happens.

Why do you continue to play down his openly stated promise not to?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you simply aren't paying attention
He has taken both sides of the same issue. Rather than take Him to task for it, you're giving Him a pass..

Answer the question.

I did answer. He promised not to. And he hasn't.

What more is there to say?

He has taken both sides of the same issue. Rather than take Him to task for it, you're giving Him a pass..

As I explained, the only way to resolve that is to wait and see what he actually does.

I did answer. He promised not to
And he also said that he would if he could, meaning that he will when he can.
You -choose- to ignore that. Why?

As I explained, the only way to resolve that is to wait and see what he actually
No this is just a cop-out, giving Him a pass out of a desire to not have to take Him to task.
