Gun rights advocates rally in Washington, Virginia

You are a newcomer to the issue then

ARC--Anti Rights Coalition

No, been a gun owner since 1969. I just don't get all excited over a group or give it much thought unless it is effectual and or a threat !!!

Clinton did not "outlaw" guns. He did not push for the ellimination of the 2nd ammendment.

So if someone pushed for so called hate speech laws, banned certain religions, banned what you can and can't say about the government then we could still call that person a 1st amendment advocate?

sadly people like me have to protect the rights of gunowners like you while protecting the rights of the rest of us. Humor me what sort of gun do you own and CT bans the Colt AR-15 which is made there

Do you think you are less trustworthy than the average police officer?

SOme people just aren't smart enough to pay attention to the incremental method of banning guns

I know you know the story about how to boil a frog.

Never heard of them.

I'm a proud card-carrying member of the Anti-getting-shot-coalition.

Our position is simple:

1) Gun laws in NYC will differ from those in Wyoming. A one-size-fits-all approach to gun regs is totally idiotic.
2) Federal and state lawmakers should look to local police departments for advice on better more effective gun regs.
3) The gun show loophole must me closed.
4) Public safety trumps the 2nd Amendment -- just like it trumps the 1st Amendment (crowed firehouse/kiddie porn).

Nobody wants your damn guns. Grow up.

Nobody wants your damn guns. Grow up.

stop lying--people like you said the same thing before handguns were banned in England.

The collectivist solution to the so-called “gun problem” is the incremental implementation of legislation, which will increasingly restrict the ownership of arms until which time they are positioned to replace the 20,000 federal, state and local gun laws controlling or prohibiting arms with one law — no guns, except perhaps those narrowly defined for sporting purposes.

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal." - Janet Reno

Gun control advocates have used the Fabian Socialist technique of incrementalism to slowly strip away the Constitutional rights of Americans to own and bear arms. They know they cannot simply declare one day that all guns will be outlawed because American citizens would not tolerate that. However, if they can piece-by-piece, step-by-step dismantle this fundamental right, one day the Second Amendment will become nothing more than a historical footnote.

gun control decreases public safety. The only people made safer by gun control are goon squads and criminals

and no public safety does not trump constitutional rights

If you are against a one size fits all gun law then you should oppose federal gun control laws. Thanks for seeing the light

Yes, they're called the Brady Campaign. Now go buy a ****ing clue.

one of the strategies of the ARC is to call "paranoid" anyone who thinks that the left is pushing for gun bans. ROckwell was probably one of those who claimed that when the first state legalized concealed carry the "streets would run with blood" and he kept saying that even after 43 more states passed such laws and no such OK corral nonsense took place

Reality and supporting leftist gun control rarely meet

I have several from .17 to .45. Semi auto .22 rifle. .223, 303 , and 008 deer rifle. New PURCHASES OF The AR 15 was banned but grandfathering ok . The 303 was given to me by a grand uncle of my wife's. The .17 is new like it for target practice. Not too bad on chipmunks if you can hit one..

banning an AR-15 is moronic. Politicians who support such idiocy should be in prison

The Brady gang - oh yeh now I know them. I will agree that the Brady Bill was an emotional over -reaction. Usually when bills are passed based upon emotionalism the bill sucks. Now let's look at his from the mirror image. An emotional over-rection to an issue such as gun control can likewise casue people to take on postions or points of view of reactions that - suck.

That half-ass pro-gun theory report has been debunked by a thousand econimists. It's bull****.

Oh really??

Well then-- you can yell 'fire' in a crowed movie house?

--you can produce kiddie porn?

Here's a legal definition for you Turtledude.

Incite to riot: Urging or instigating other persons to riot, but shall not be deemed to mean the mere oral or written (1) advocacy of ideas or (2) expression of belief, not involving advocacy of any act or acts of violence or assertion of the rightness of, or the right to commit, any such act or acts. 18 USC

Yes -- public safety trumps your right to free speech.

Yes -- public safety and decency trumps your right lude acts.

And yes -- public safety means you have to fill out forms when you want to buy a handgun. Get over it. My safety and the safety of my family is more valuable than your time and the ink in your pen. Fill out the forms and you can go shot at as many cans as you want.

Knock yourself out, go to town. Blow the living hell out of those cans. But when money is tight, you sure as hell better not think about selling that gun on the streets.

If you are against a one size fits all gun law then you should oppose federal gun control laws. Thanks for seeing the light

This is my favorite part -- which federal gun regs do you think overreach and why? :blastem::waiting:

The banning of the AR 15 was an emotional over-raction to the look of the weapon. he rate of fire is significant and the calibre is that of a varmit gun. What people went nuts over was that is it a poor cousin PRECURSOR of the M16. I don't remember if the magazine capacity was a freak oout or not. Or if the reps voting even knew what the mag capacity was.

I obviously have no desire to ban guns but I wll accept a sane control and purchase law.

Serously Obama is not going to take the 2nd away even if he did want to which I do not think he does.

you can yell fire in a public theater if there is a fire

gun bans prevent someone from owning a gun no matter what circumstances they would use it

and you certainly are in no position to lecture me about the laws of this country

HTF is your safety increased by me filling out forms when those who would do you harm do not?

Now fill me in on the law schools you have taught at, the articles on the second amendment you have written etc.

IF obama thought he would increase his chances of winning reelection in 2012 or keeping control of congress by banning guns what do you honestly think he would do.

The issue was is there any proof that Obama want to do away with the 2nd and or was proof is there that he has if you think that he wants to.

so explain to me-what was Obama's wants when he said all handguns and semi autos should be banned?

No even if he was of the mind to ban guns I think that he is too smart to try something that politically scary.

that is why I couched it in terms that if it would increase his chances of gaining politically.

I met punks that i am sure wanted to beat the living crap out of me. They didn't because they either figured I or one of my friends would kill them or the local constabulary would beat them up and throw them in jail. That doesn't mean I didn't keep an eye on them and a hand on my weapon when I saw them on the streets.

I have no doubt that Obama wants to ban guns or greatly restrict who can own them. But like those punks, he doesn't want to pay the price for doing so. RIght now, the price would be too high.

Be careful, he's an English major. :rofl
