1. 14 countries is not the world
2. The increase began after 2007... when Bush was still in office.
3. You completely ignored my point that the results were almost the same back in 2005... when Bush was president. So this is clearly not a Bush vs. Obama thing.
4. I don't watch Fox News.
5. So where's those policy examples?

Obama is no different than Bush so what honour has he restored?

All he has done is go around apologising and it has got him nowhere (I don't see Europe stepping up in Afghanistan) and pissed off his allies by treating them with barely disguised contempt.

They are largely ignorant, and their press treats them like mushrooms... which is the problem or adds to the problem. K-stan has a few more attuned folk than Europe... due to the close proximity of the US.

It's obvious. This guy holds no regard for The Constitution or America. He couldn't stand to wear an American flag lapel pin, couldn't see the toxic nonsense his Reverend Wright was puking from the pulpit, is ready to attack our police but not despots across the globe, sends our allies out with the trash, pisses on Israel, has terrorists for friends. He is a tax and spend socialist. Americans make mistakes... good thing we get to correct this one in a couple years.

It is encouraging that the polling data indicates people in various countries having improving perceptions concerning the United States. I suspect that a renewed emphasis on diplomacy coupled with more effective communication of U.S. policy have contributed to that outcome. Nevertheless, in the larger scheme of foreign policy, interests, allies, and the balance of power matter more than overseas perceptions and occasionally policy decisions may run counter to popular opinion.

Obama will remain in office until 2016. And you know what, even under Bush I still liked America, I still respect America. I love visiting America, because America is more then just presidents and politics. The people of America are great, liberal or conservative, the majority of Americans are decent, well to do people that I like meeting when I come down.

They didn't poll the country I live in, but if they did, I think you would likely see a slight DECLINE in how people look at the U.S. However, it wouldn't have a lot to do with Obama specifically, but rather the beef row currently ongoing between Taiwan and the UNited States.

Of more value would be to look into the specific causes in each individual country and then try to ascertain what trend, if any, exists.

Oh c'mon. Be above the rest of the pathetic world. Restoring honor and integrity? Really? GITMO's gone no where. Civilians are still caught between sides. We still conduct business with the lords of terror for oil. Our foriegn policies remain the same. The only thing that's different is that President Obama makes them feel better about themselves and woos them into their former comfortable illusions of their importance to us. They even gave him a Nobel Peace Prize as our troops wage war. They want so badly to be in America's good graces again that they grovel and pretend something's changed.

All the reasons they voiced for hating us comes down to merely hating how they were shunned and easily dimissed under President Bush. Pathetic. Any American care about taking a poll about how they feel about another country or region? Nope.

In 94 the world was rocked during the midterms for far less... this time people are more pissed because destruction isn't being suggested, but is rammed down the electorate's throat by Obama the Wrecking Ball.

And thus far he is staring at rather similar problems moving the "rest of the world" (as overly simplified as you put it) towards US interests as Bush had.

Obama is convinced that he can convince Europe to follow his line, which was mostly a different stance from Bush who, for the most part, believed that such a move would be difficult. Thus far, not much has changed. The various nations involved have their own interests to pursue.

I would be interested to hear what the actual root of your objection is here: Are you against these apologies because the idea that the U.S could ever done anything inappropriate to anyone is somehow blasphemous or because he apologized for something specific which he should not have apologized for?
