What if those that happen to disagree with you are rednecks or white trash. If they are, then you are just calling a spade a spade.

For example, you disagree with me, you could look at this picture posing with a 20 pound flathead and call me a redneck.

So why are we still talking about it? Why are people saying things like "all they needed was power of attorney" or "Obama opposes gay marriage" or "I don't think this was much of a problem at hospitals"?

If it's a non-issue, nobody should care that Obama issued this order. Let's end this thread.

Back to my point. Huzzah! Obama just declared the equivalent of granting gays the right to wear flip flops...lets have a national party and celebration.

Not at all. He just made it a right for gays to wear flip flops without having to sign a document, something that straights didn't have to do at all. See the difference yet?

Show me where ANY patient over the age of 18 already doesnt have this right. Its irrelevant. Its an appeasement of the gay voting block. It is the equiovalent of telling minorities "look...we know we destroyed your families with welfare...we have no economic opportunities for you, and arent going to do squat to help you improve your life...but hey...we just named the ****tiest and most crime ridden street in your communituy after Martin Luther King Jr. So..pop a cork! lets have a party! And remember...vote early and vote often...vote democrat!"

OK...OK...Im wrong. This is a significant step for homosexuals everywhere. Now...why stop at gays...how about heterosexual boyfriends/girlfriends or live in couples? Dont they too deserve this awesome and significant executive ordered privelege?

I can show you instances where it has not been allowed. It closes a loophole, regardless of whether it is widespread or rare. It is not appeasement. And your analogy is nothing but hysterical hyperbole.

If you are saying every single hospital already allowed gay visitation, you're mistaken.

But even if you weren't - so what? If so, this order is pointless, and therefore not news. Unless you oppose gay visitation rights, you should not even bother posting on this thread. Why does it bother you that Obama issued this order if you don't oppose it? If you don't oppose it, why do you care if Obama simply made it official?

As long as their base accepts it and supports them, which tend to be social conservatives these days, then it will stick. They don't really care what the left thinks.

Why did he sensationalize it by specifying homosexuals? Why didnt he say ALL PERSONS...as in unmarried partners, coupled individuals, etc.

Its idiocy...that's why I am opposed to it. that being said...you should host a party celebrating it.

Sex and race are genetic. Homosexuality has never been proved to be hereditary in any way shape or form so the association is dishonest to say the least.
