Oh call on me !!! lol I think that I know the answer. Let's see we have a Vietnam veteran and we have a chicken hawk. ok

Seriously now we all know that there are extremist elements within the right wing cabals that will and have demonized veterans based upon partisanship.

Remember what 'they' did to Max Cleland !! The man left 2 legs and an arm on the ground in Vietnam but the Rovian monster pack of hyena's convinced Georgian voters that he was unpatriotic. The swift oaters attacked Kerry not for his policy positions but for his purple hearts.

The extremist segment of the right wing cabals will always try to eleveate a chicken hawk ( E.G.Chenney) to some faux bunger patriot status while they denergrate at times falsley those who they view as the other side.

Believe me Deferment Boy Chenney is as much a chicken as he is a hawk.

Murtha didn't make a mistake. His choice not to apologize was a calculated decision based on the observation it was a "cover up" and apologizing would weaken his credibility more than help it. There was no reason to apologize when marines were offered immunity; at best, immunity means the marines were wrong but one of them was more wrong than the rest and they needed total compliance in order to get him. At worst, it means they want a fall guy. Either way, after immunity was offered, Murtha had no obligation to apologize, because it means there was never a "real" trial, with the whole unit being put on the hot seat.

The 'mistake' that Murtha made was to pre-emptively allude to their guilt. If he had said that something bad happened and that their will be an investigation and that he hopes that the MARINES are not proven to be culpable he would still have been critized but not as bad. He was obviously given inside information but he should have ssat on it. Nohing was gained from his premature disclosure.

You make a strong point about the immunity factor.

Yet Murtha s obviously not in any way a "traitor" or "back stabber".

Cunnigham or Delay are from Harlem?

Yea, Cunningham and Delay were crooks, but here is the problem - You only want to talk about them, while giving Murtha a free pass. That makes you nothing but a hyperpartisan. Murder would be OK with you..... Well, maybe not, at least not if the culprit has an R after his name. But as long as there is a D here, it's all cool. Right?

The charges were dropped. What source are you quoting claiming they were not?

I believe Murtha spoke out so soon because he was so incensed by what those marines did. He saw their actions as the direct result of the lack of leadership and abuse of the troops over there. He was outing Bush's lack of a war plan and Rummy's "dumb as a box of rocks" approach.

All vets should be proud of Murtha standing up against the administration and yelling "the king has no clothes".

Murtha was right when he said it and he's right now. When you read what actually happened, from all the sources, it is clear those marines committed cold blooded murder. Too bad the marines are too insecure to discipline their own bad apples.

Murtha was a scumbag and a traitor to the military he served in......To pronounce the Marines guilty on the day the incident happened is outrageous....There are a lot of heroes in the military that ship could have been named after...There is a Navy Seal who recently fell on a grenade to save his shipmates lives....He is a real hero.........

Another traitor you lefties love.......

When did Kerry commit treason?

(Remember, treason has a specific legal definition. It doesn't mean "guy who did something I didn't like.")

Big deal, he rode a desk for 13 months in Nam...He actually did 4 years of active duty in the Marine Corps and 34 in the reserves........
