Several California Republican political candidates, including Senate hopeful Carly Fiorina, were scheduled to share the stage this week with one of the leaders of the "birther" movement that claims President Obama was not born in this country and is thus ineligible for his elected office.

Orly Taitz, an Orange County attorney who has gone to court many times to try to disqualify Obama, was invited to speak Thursday at a Tax Day Tea Party rally in Pleasanton, Calif., that is expected to draw thousands of people. Late Tuesday, organizers said that they had rescinded Taitz's invitation after questions were raised about her presence by candidates who had been contacted by The Times.

I have one statement to make......

Hell yes!!

Now that that's out of the way, let me add that I am very pleased that the Tea Partiers are booting out the extremists. There is no place for them, not if the Tea Party movement wants to survive. I have been hard on them for this very reason. But recent events are causing me to take a serious look at them.

1) Crazy lady Orly Taitz is now an outcast.

2) The man who helped organize the Tea Party in Houston, and who had a sign that said "niggar", has been booted, and will never organize another event.

3) Tea Party leaders have acknowledged the incident in which "nigger" was yelled by a few demonstrators in Washington, and have condemned it.

This is an excellent start. Keep kicking the fringe to the curb, and you will begin to have my support. And to the candidates who demanded the booting out of Taitz, thank you. Keep up the pressure, and let the organizers know that you will not have anything to do with the extremists.

Just by my glance at your quote it seems as though the republicans are the ones who didn't want to be seen with that lady.

But if the tea party really does start distancing itself from the crazies I'm all for it.

Well, part of the problem with the Tea Partiers is that they had no real leaders to provide direction. This is where Republican candidates who do care about the image they are sending out can do some good. The Tea Party movement needs leadership, and that is actually most of the problem. With young movements, there is room for extremists to infiltrate and take over, and that must be dealt with decisively. I am glad to see that Conservatives are now beginning to set the tone of the debate, and making decisions as to who the spokespersons will be. Not birthers, deathers, people calling Obama a Nazi, or any other radical extremists. We don't need these kinds of people. They only hurt us instead of helping us. Now that the Tea Party is beginning to deal with them, I am more prone to support them. After all, the basic message of taxation, and limited government appeals to me.

Kind of weird that, just a couple of days ago, I was bashing the hell out of them, and now I am beginning to kind of like them. I sincerly hope that things continue in this direction. LOL.

I have noticed that at the Boston TP show the extremists and crazies seem to have been kept at bay or maybe they were thrown into the BAY. A few weeks ago I purposely stated that I thought that the Tea Psrtiers appeared to have been controlled in attitude at least by Nazi mentality. Of course people went nuts at my assessment but those people failed to see that the "birthers, deathers, people calling Obama a Nazi, or any other radical extremists" and racists had become the face of the Tea Party and that those extremists were controlling the direction of the TP.

When you say that the TP lacks leadership you are not just whistling Dixie. That vacuum in leadership was being filled by the whackjob, racists, and yes I firmly believe that Neo Nazi's were there also sans Swastika!!
