U of Maryland student beaten by police

Well I don't know the full happenings either, but I'd bet that these police officers didn't simply pick a random kid to beat on for nothing. I'm thinking this kid deserved a spanking.

Exactly. We have no idea what he is saying or how long he had been there and what he was doing.

We did see him attempt to walk by. I dunno ... I still think it was a little much.

If only the kid was packing a gun, he could have defended himself. lol

The cops could have defended their actions as well. Unfortunately for them, they have no excuse. That's why they lied about what happened, there was no legitimate reason for doing what they did.

Of course you're right. I was just being facetious about the right to carry a gun to defend oneself against the government.

It was far too much. They got carried away. They lied because they knew it.

Agreed. The fact that they lied is grounds for their removal. I wonder if those cops will get prosecuted?

Wow...another inaccurate description of why the student got beat. The student was obviously showing off for his friends and decided to skip over to the mounted officers and sarcastically ask 'can i pet your horse' in the middle of a riot. He got his ass beat for it in return, and i bet he'll never pull a stunt like that again.

WRONG.

I saw the video. The video disproves your theory. Stop defending the police. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You know, typically, I would cover all bets saying that the cops will get off. I mean, historically, most of the time, they always do. But this time, I'm not so sure.

The days of cops beating the **** out of people simply because they usually get away with it, are nearing an end.

However, I don't think they will ever stop beating the **** outta people in L.A. or New Orleans. It's tradition there. Who are we to buck tradition?

It's still a tradition in the Houston area too.

Two of the officers involved have already been suspended and two more suspensions are likely.

Given the video evidence ... and the fact that the FBI is investigating .... those involved are quite likely to be terminated and then prosecuted.

I believe the Cheif of the U of Maryland Police Department needs to be fired and I believe he needs to lose his pension. Why? Because he had the sheer unmitigated gaul to put his badged thugs on PAID suspension. This is an
unforgivable attempt to avoid punishing those who are OBVIOUSLY guilty and should forever end his law enforcement career.

The FBI is NOT going to just let this go. The officers in question, who lied during and investigation, are guilty of corrption of justice, assualt with the intent to cause serious bodily harm, unlawful arrest, and false imprisonment at the very least.

The other officers involved who lied to cover for their cop buddies are guilty of corruption of justice and conspiracy. All of them need to be serving life without parole in general population.

Prince George's County Police Chief Roberto Hylton has suspended one of the officers who's been identified on the tape and launched an investigation into the incident.
"I was outraged," said Hylton. "I was very disappointed at the conduct that I saw on the part of my officers on the video tape."
Hylton said that other officers involved in the beating will likely be fired, but McKenna's family thinks the punishment for some officers should be even tougher.
From the article.

Probably so. If it were me, I'd be looking for the meanest pit bull of a lawyer I could find, even if I had to draw a pentagram on the floor and conjure him up. The cops would pay.

Isn't that the usual method for contacting legal council?

(Sorry Mike, couldn't resist)
