There's hateful stuff in the bible?
Where?

I disagree. Huckabee is a Bible believing Christian. What you probably don't realize is that there is a lot of very hardcore, and frankly hateful stuff in the Bible. Especially in the Old Testament. Huckabee is not a cafeteria Christian. He takes the whole thing as the literal word of God.
Are there ANY politicians who have fiscal sense but aren't otherwise lunatics?
My pickings are slim for those I support.
I still believe a literal interpretation of Jesus' words would not allow anyone to quarantine a population of sick, but fairly non-contagious people.
Now don't get me wrong, I think the Bible, both OT and NT are full of some whacked out, evil stuff, but I think Jesus' view on the sick is pretty clear cut.
Lepers were quarantined at the time. Jesus just preached about ministering the to sick. He was perfectly fine with keeping lepers separated from society. Granted, he spent time with the sick, such as when they ate dinner with Simon the Leper, but he was perfectly cool with having them quarantined. There is a difference between preaching about ministering to the sick, and telling everyone to bring the lepers back into the village.
You can't pick up AIDS from touching someone though.

There's the full audio of the interview, ironically I had just stumbled across the link to that, and saw this post.
I did not expect it to embed here, just click on the title bar and it will take you to it.
I'm not so sure. Jesus did go around healing the sick, according to the NT, but I don't recall him having much to say about quarantining people in order to stop the spread of disease. Of course, people in that time had no idea what caused diseases nor that it could spread from a sick person to a healthy one or how.
Nevertheless, had we quarantined AIDS patients in the very beginning, there would be a lot fewer AIDS patients now, wouldn't there?
I thought there was recent evidence from conservatives that Jesus only healed people that didnt have pre-existing conditions?
Anyone have a link to support this I can't find one :2razz:
That was wrong....
I laughed, but it was still wrong.
Well, he was my favorite because of his support of the FairTax. Since his chances are now shot, I'll need to find a new guy to stand behind.
I would not count him out just yet if I were you........
I would not count him out just yet if I were you........
I doubt that....I love it how you liberal women hate a woman with family values.......
Yeah....we know all about your "family values" Navy.......the hypocrisy here is overwhelming.
Huckabee likens gay marriage to incest, drugs - More politics- msnbc.com
Huckabee has attempted to maintain an image of a man who, while being opposed to gay marriage, is not a homophobe; however, given the recent statements by the former Republican Presidential candidate, this brings his opinion into question. If he is not a homophobe, why the attempt to demonize homosexuality in comparison with something as universally immoral as incest? Given this and his other declarations, it is clear that our good Governor Huckabee has neglected to read the vast majority of unbiased, scientific studies which conclude that homosexuality is psychologically sound, making him not only ignorant of the facts, but perhaps a little more homophobic than he would like to admit.
Much like Palin, Huckabee is ultimately irrelevant to the political picture. They're fringe figures in the party at this point, nothing more.
I don't think Palin can be president at this time but I do believe she would make and excellent senator from the state of Alaska........
I don't know why the lefties are so pissed off at me and not at Obama.......When it comes to gay marriage my belief is the same as his............
She RESIGNED from her governership. She obviously can't handle political office. What on earth makes you think she'd be a good senator?
Well when she resigned her approval rating was one of the highest of any governor in the nation so it sure wasn't because she could not handle the job.......I think Obama is at 46% so maybe he should resign..............
Not even close Navy. Obama was against prop 8 and campaigned against it here in California. Obama has said that although he does not personally believe in gay marriage, he does not support efforts to ban it.
Obama is not a gay-hater like you are.
