    You're missing the point.

After Brown won in MA, many in the GOP touted that they would win this one too, especially since the election was taking place after the health care bill passed.

In fact, the GOP candidate specifically said as much, claiming that this election was a referendum on the health care bill.

You can be sure had he won, the GOP candidate would have screamed that his winning was because of it.

You can't make such a claim and then, after it's over, make excuses as if you had never said such a thing. It's not a referendum on health care only if you win.

Republicans don't have much of a chance to take the Senate until possibly 2012, but they are making serious overtures to taking the House this year.

The house would work for me, then they could defund the healthcare takeover.

Every candidate is going to say that a district is winnable. You do it to encourage your supporters. The reality is that there are districts that a GOP candidate can NEVER win just as there are districts that someone in the Democratic Party will never win.

I think this is about right, and the race in Florida has absolutely ZERO bearing on the chances of either happing.

They might be doing that. Take a look at HI-01. Republican has a 2 point lead there.

Re: Democrat wins Fla. special house election

rcp, based on its poll of polls, has my side picking up EIGHT upstairs in november

RealClearPolitics - 2010 Election Maps - Senate No Toss Ups

after the 8, it is very conceivable---boxer in CA, gillibrand in NY (if pataki runs), murray in WA, obama's seat in IL (gop kirk vs dem giannoulias), and even feingold (whom we would have taken, hands down, had thompson declared---darn)

republicans have a very real chance to take the senate

and yes, if the senate goes, the house will

that is, the house will swing before upstairs

and if this president ever tries to move on IMMIGRATION (by HIS lights), then his party will have almost zero chance of holding anything by december except the white house

and he IS going to move on IMMIGRATION, you know barry

    it's gonna be WILD
