Gay Marriage Fails to get on California Ballot

First NP, almost that same amount of states had constitutional amendments against interracial marriages when Loving v Virginia was decided.

Second, DOMA was signed almost 20 years ago. Both former President Clinton and former US Rep. Bob Barr, the original sponsor of DOMA, support repealing DOMA now.

We imposed freedom for slaves on the people. We imposed integration on the people.
Some issues are too important to leave to the uneducated masses...

Why does the left always trot this case out and dishonestly pretend it speaks to homosexuality?

This was about denying marriage based on race not alternative lifestyles, period.

Race and homosexuality are not equal to each other. Your comparison is dishonest to say the least.

Race aside, the courts still decided that marriage was a fundamental right in that case. So when the right trots out that marriage is not a right, expect the left to counter with it.

They are not the same thing, but they should be equally protected against discrimination. Homosexuality does no harm to anyone or anyone's property.

Why do you believe that homosexuality should not be protected the same as race?

I have 4 guns in my house and one iss a 38 police special loaded on my night stand for protection..........I don't go around armed except to go to the range to shoot..........

Well since neither one of them are in office I won't worry to much about it.........Its easy to have and opinion like that when you don't have to get votes.....Even your boy Obama is against Gay Marriage.....He unlike the 2 people you mentioned might need votes....Is he a liar?

So your saying after Loving V Virginia all those states just changed their mind.........can you give me a link on those states.........I was voting during those days and don't remember that and most people I know had to problem with the races being integrated...Nothing like there is against gay marriage........

I heard there are going to be more states with constitutional amendments on the ballot in Nov.....stay tuned..........
 
The left always like to make the plight of gays with their fight for equal rights when in fact there is no comparison.......Nothing can compare to 400 years of slavery and degradation...........The gay culture is mostly rich white snobs, many from Hollywood who have never been repressed in any way......

Really this whole thing is not about equal rights anyhow.........If it was gays would accept civil unions with equal rights............In fact most gays will accept that but a few militant gays and a bunch of "Feel Good" liberals seem to think they speak for all............

Why do you not discuss what he said, instead of throwing out red herrings. He did not say the case had anything to do with gays, but that Loving established a right to marry. Notice that big difference?

I came back to Logan, Utah after 4 months in AZ and found that 2 of my basement windows were unlocked. Nothing missing....

Are you allowed to shoot people who are stealing property in your state?

Loving did not speak to homosexuality....but it also is not significant only to inter-racial marriage.
The Court recognized the freedom to marry as a fundamental right....period.

It didn't say it recognized the freedom or inter-racial marriage as a fundamental right.

So...it is really YOU who are being dishonest when you want to impose limits on the Court's dicta that are intellectually dishonest.

I live in LA and believe it or not.....my house is never locked and my back door is oen 24 hours a day...and I've never been robbed or felt unsafe.

The way I figure....I don't have that much that I couldn't afford to lose.

If someone breaks into my house and gets past my dogs...they probably need the stuff I have, more than I do.

I just refuse to live my life in fear that I am going to be a victim of crime. To me...I'd rather live my life and enjoy it...than live in constant fear that I need to sleep with a gun by my side.

Where do you get this **** from Navy? Most of the gays I know are rural(and rural gay guys are hilarious, 2 hours talking on accessorizing their pickup trucks). How do they compare to the gay crowd I know I Detroit(I knew a gay chorus there, about 2/3 of it was business administrators, the other third was some guys who lived in a falling down old house and worked as female impersonators at a dance club). None of them are the least bit like, for example, Jallman, let alone a rich Hollywood snob.

Hell, the fact the three openly gay guys who post here are all not like you present gays, and at least one of them is just about as far away from your presentation as possible should have told you that you where totally inaccurate.

Making **** up can be fun, but it's a terrible way to debate.
