I wonder how many anti-tea partiers will be out there throwing eggs, yelling racial slurs at black tea partiers (like one who is called "Uncle Tom") and beating down people?
Under such a rubric, President Bush is viewed as solely and completely to blame for the recent financial crisis/severe recession, even as many seeds of the crisis predated his tenure. Today, even as a cyclical recovery, albeit a moderate one, appears to be getting underway and there have been signs that the labor market has stabilized and may be moving toward a resumption of growth, there is desperation on the part of some to deny those potential positive developments. After all, such developments could be politically inconvenient. They could rebut the "sky will fall" warnings that were made during the height of the fiscal stimulus debate creating a credibility crisis for those who made such predictions. They could have an impact on the electoral landscape.
In reality, some policy errors by President Bush and his Administration played a role. But many other factors prior to his Administration and beyond his control were responsible. With respect to the fiscal stimulus, one could have argued against it without prophesying doom and gloom e.g., a more nuanced argument about whether the taking on of additional debt in the context of a structural budget situation that needs to be addressed entailed short term benefit at larger long-term cost could have been made.
So now the Tea Party movement and its backers on these boards are building the "we have been infiltrated" defense so that their own members can attack and shout "bad" things at people on the other side without being called for it.
Its not like the Tea Party movement needs infiltrating since it is made of in part of crackpots and loonies..
You're absolutely right Pete. People on this board have infilitrated the AP as a devious conspiracy to be able to publish a story about another board member who is posing as an activist and started a phony website all so that they could come back to DP and use it to lay the groundwork for a "we've been infiltrated" defense.
"I am appalled that somebody who is the nominee...would take that kind of position"
"A court took away a presidency"
"...the brother of a man running for president was the governor of the state..."
It's horrifying because Trump is blunt instead of making overt implications.
After the failed attempt to deflect the N word being called of a US congressman , then I have no doubt that the Tea Party movement will do anything what so ever to find excuses for the actions of their members or sympathizers. The Tea Party is getting more and more radical with death threats, attacks and soon I betcha ... murder.
But we all know what kind of people are among the Tea Party... everything from out right factist, racists,to neo nazies and anarchists. I am not saying that everyone or even a majority are this radical, but you can not deny that they are there or trying to "cuddle up" with the Tea Party movement because of their similar views on certain things.
So face it.. a "they are infiltrating us" is just another excuse for not having a good enough handle on the members or sympathizers.
Where is your proof that it's the right who created the "infiltrating" site?
I wouldn't be surprised to find it's a hoax. I could be wrong, but when something sounds to good to be true, it usually is.
