Stimulus package falling flat, lawmakers say

It's official San Diego County didn't do well in the PHONY Obama stimulus caper. I use the term caper because there is a great deal of that money still waiting to be spent some suspect right before the Nov. Elections in a last minute attempt to buy the votes of the brain dead who still believe Obama Been Lying.

The whole State of California is not benefiting from the reign of economic terror being foisted upon the Nation by the Obama stimuseless FAILOUT.

The current unemployment in the most populated State remains at 12.5 Percent.

Thanks Obama your dreams of wrecking our economy are becoming the nightmare you wanted. Boy he really sticks to that Cloward and Pevin Strategy.

SAN DIEGO — A bipartisan majority of the San Diego County congressional delegation agreed Friday
Representatives Susan Davis (left) and Bob Filner (center) listen to Rep. Duncan Hunter during the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce's Congressional Luncheon at the Holiday Inn on Harbor Drive.

Congressman Bob Filner was ready for verbal sparring at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s congressional luncheon Friday.

that President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package hasn’t accomplished what it was supposed to.

Rep. Darrell Issa pronounced what is formally known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 a failure.

“We’re going to be over $1 trillion more in debt to the Chinese and the Japanese and other foreign countries as a result of spending at a time when most people are looking for new efficiencies and austerities,” the Vista Republican told the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual congressional luncheon.

All the stimulus did was put us deeper in debt.

How are conservatives saying the stimulus already failed? Whenever liberals say it's working they say it's too early to tell! Besides, there was an increase in jobs in March, and if there was an increase I don't see how you can say it's failing but we will see by the end of his term. I personally don't see how you can judge that the stimulus failed already.

well, and suck up money that otherwise would have been invested in the economy; thereby lengthening and deepening the downturn.

Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 162,000 in March, and the unemployment
rate held at 9.7 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.
Temporary help services and health care continued to add jobs over the month.
Employment in federal government also rose, reflecting the hiring of temporary
workers for Census 2010. Employment continued to decline in financial activi-
    ties and in information.
    Employment Situation Summary

Unemployment held stead, yet there was an increase of 162,000 jobs, most in Government?

Now look at what I underlined.

It's not about the stimulus package being phoney, it's about being careful.

Congress doesn't want to give big contracts to companys who can't handle them, so every bid has to be carefully examined, and that takes a lot of time and effort.

Congress does not let contracts dude, they make laws.

Once the 'stimulus' was passed into law Congress has nothing to do with it.

The reason the 'stimulus ' has not worked yet is that you can give a short term boost to an economy with gov't spending, but you can not spend your way out of a recession. You must create new private sector money. Gov't money doesn't create anything. Just moves money from A to B, artificially creating 'booms' in the end it still hasn't created anything.

I guess as long as you can point to 'this success' and then 'that success' you can think its working, until you look at this and that together and see the whole picture.

The good thing is that a recession won't last forever, and the economy will come back, no matter what gov't does.

It's PHONY because it was designed to fail.

Look at has been suggested at the unemployment rate. It's not helping.

Look at the fact that money has been held back to spend for votes just before the Nov. election.

Add to this the idiotic Cash for Clunker fiasco that helped imports much more than domestic sales. Cut into the used car market by destroying perfectly serviceable cars for negligible gains in mileage. And it cost over $24,000 per car to implement.

With the foolish raising of taxes that have been shown throughout history to stifle growth and the creation of jobs anyone who can read knows and that adds up to PHONY from the get do.

Obama is continuing his attack on the American economy with Cap and Trade that will raise the price of every item sold in America. He's plans are a threat to our future.

Not because he's black but because he's Anti-American and a fool.

Isn't that always the answer from folks like you?

"You think our programs were bad, imagine what would have happened without them!!!"

    Cue scary music!

Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.
