It really is way past time that something should be done with these Pirates.
Simply capturing and then putting them on trial does not seem to work.
What do you think the Nations affected should do?

One has to analyze the situation in Somalia to understand why this stuff goes down. Unless you wanna nuke the entire country, you're gonna have to face the fact it is partially the entire western worlds fault Somalia is in this debacle, goin back to British and Italian Colonialisation to America's efforts to outbid the Russians to back a homocidal maniac dictator named muhammed Siad Barre.

This country is the epitamy of lawlessness. And the only way to sort it out, is to spend a lot of money, and commit a lot of manpower. But that isn't gonna happen. So send your ships and kill desperate young men at your whim.

I do not defend the killings these pirates commit, nor do I support their actions. But it's not as easy as, they're the bad guys, we're the good guys. most of them are desperate young men who want to survive.

Seeing as the Somali pirates use wooden boats with a mother ship.One of these on a cargo/container ship should leave a few red splinters in the water. :2wave:

An interesting article.

So some other nation will now need to be found who can prosecute the captured Pirates.

Of course the authorities or those who capture Pirates could deal with them in the time honored traditional manner namely string the buggers up on the yard arm or latest equivalent and sink their craft.

Very killings have been committed by the pirates, especially considering how many ships have been hijacked.

I proposed that to my boyfriend, a career navy officer. He rebutted that then, the pirates would have no reason not to kill the crew and/or damage the vessel.
