The progressive movement never advocated for eugenics, ever.

Abortions though are a new claim.

Also, it was progressives who banned alcohol for religious reasons. That sound like something liberals would do? No, especially since it was the liberal president at the time who tried to veto it, and the liberal congressmen who voted against it. The movement though that banned it called themselves Progressives though.

The progressive title has been used by both sides of the spectrum. at one point or another.

I'm shocked at the arrogance of such regulations, mandating rules to combat fake man-made global warming. I'm actually a bit outraged, to be honest.
    From the article:

But others states are fighting back on behalf of the EPA, saying without regulations, climate change will adversely affect them.

Those states are: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.

Looks like a real battle shaping up between the states. Here is how we should settle it. Let each side field a football team, and nationally televise the game. Use the proceeds (provided by Budweiser advertising) to clean up the environment, and then we won't have a problem at all.

Actually I like the idea of a duel, the states get pistols, the EPA gets spitball guns.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

Is this the new tactic for conservatives on DP forums? Turn every thread into a flame war over who is a fascist and who is a socialist, completely ignoring the topic?

It wouldn't even be a contest. You would have The New England Offense added with the Ravens O-line and their new pickups. Then you would have the Jets and Ravens Defense. Plus you would have Rex Ryan who coached both the Ravens and Jets. Yeah it wouldn't be a contest.

    Semantics, semantics, semantics.

"Left" is just a label based off a simplified political spectrum. Redefining all these historical atrocities as "leftist" and then trying to apply it to modern American political policy is absurd and, frankly, stupid. You're just demonizing. The American left is not responsible for historical genocide. Period.

Besdies, wasn't FDR a "socialist" in the same mold -- an American progressive? Was he not commander in chief during the World War II? Did we not fight against European fascism? Did we not help liberate the concentration camps?

You're either playing a willfully ignorant and rather insulting semantic game, or you have a ****ed-up view of the good guys and the bad guys.

People on the right clearly support dissolution of the United States as an entity. They are, after all, in favor of "smaller government."
