MOUNT DORA — A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care "elsewhere."

"I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."

The sign reads: "If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years."

Estella Chatman, 67, of Eustis, whose daughter snapped a photo of the typewritten sign, sent the picture to U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, the Orlando Democrat who riled Republicans last year when he characterized the GOP's idea of health care as, "If you get sick, America … Die quickly."

Chatman said she heard about the sign from a friend referred to Cassell after his physician recently died. She said her friend did not want to speak to a reporter but was dismayed by Cassell's sign.

"He's going to find another doctor," she said.

Now that's a smart Doc! :) I like his attitude.

Saw this on the news last night. Priceless!!

What a scumbug. He swore an oath, and yet he puts pathetic partisan politics above his profession. The only saving grace is that he is screwing himself by losing out on reasonable customers. He is more than welcome to bash Obama all he likes, but it is shameful to go so far.

Considering he says he won' REFUSE anyone, your rhetoric merely drips with ignorance and hate.

He is using his God Given, constitutionally guaranteed right to Free Speech and Freedom of Association. The shameful one here, is you.

Sounds like this Urologist here has the balls (no pun intended) to stick up for what he believes in; even if the sign is temporary, it does send a signal. Not all the fake white jackets standing behing Obama as camera props are happy and some are making themselves known.

Hmmm in one breath he says go else where in another he says he won't refuse service. The man is speaking out of both sides of his mouth

Following the Obama method apparently.

I hope his practice suffers as a result of his immature and unprofessional behavior. I'd be happy to go elsewhere. Anyone who would put politics over someone's heath isn't worthy of my business.

And those of you supporting his sign, shame on you.

Gladly. And if you were a patient of his and went somewhere else, it sounds like a win/win from the Dr's. perspective.

At my old job, many of my clients voted for McCain. Many of them ranted about that scary Obama while I was working with them. It never once crossed my mind to even consider doing something like this. You know why?

I'm a professional and not a big baby. I hope this doctor's patients take his advice and go find a doctor who cares more about his patients than his politics.

Exactly. We all work with people that have different beliefs and political views than what we have. If someone can't deal with that, then obviously they have some pretty severe personality disorders going and need to see a therapist.

Doctors like this are one of the main problems of our healthcare system. To them, it's more about money than helping people.

The sign clearly refuses treatment to patients, despite the doctor's denial. He is in violation of the Hippocratic oath and Florida law, and should be prosecuted for his cutesy Teabag behavior.

Totally agree. I hope someone reports him to the medical board.

Excellent for him. He has every right, IMO, to deny his services to anyone he wants for any reason he wants.

It can't be pleasant watching the masses choose to go in a different direction. That has to leave one with the feeling of being "kicked to the curb."

I wish there could be a meeting of the minds and perhaps a compromise negotiated that leaves all American's feeling they are still have a part of deciding their fate.

I have seen the olive branch offered. I have also seen it thrown back in the face of the current administration. People reap what they sow.

Actually he's not if you read carefully.

He simply said he was expressing his views but he also said the politics of his patients would never effect the level of care he provides.

So I take it from the liberals mad at this doctor he doesn't have 1st amendment rights unless he agrees with you?

I'd give him a medal. He can do what he wants... perhaps in the dictatorship world view, he'd be prosecuted, but not until the Constitution is removed from existence. All the little Obama bed wetters really are taking this personally. Entertaining as hell... :boohoo:

The "masses" are against the bill or haven't you seen the polls?

LOL What olive branch? Obama shut out all Republicans from debate then had a show day where he pretended to listen but shout out all major proposals by Republicans.

This is the most divisive and biggest liar of a president we have had in a century.

Oh yeah, what oath did he swear?

Yeah, all doctors should be like him. They should only treat the people they want to treat.
