This was not a losing lawsuit.

The father won his suit and on appeal it was overturned and then ordered to pay.

I don't think that happens as a matter of course.

Myself, I'm as charitable as the next guy but I'm tired of paying for other people to have kid's and then paying for their kid's to eat and have health care. I'm not saying we should turn them away but if we gotta take care of 'em anyways, then take their premiums out of their tax return, that they usually get 100% of, back, anyways.

I'm all for lending a helping hand for those in need. But too many people mistake charity for entitlement. They think they are owed. Working the system IS their job. Government cheese sucks.

There are people out there that legitimately need help and I to mad for helping them but there are a lot of people sucking at the government troughs that don't deserve it.........

redress is going to give me hell again for being off topic........I sure wish she had worked for me for a few days when we were in the Navy.....:)

Then why not force them to get off their ass or suffer refund deductions?

And those who legitimately need help, I begrudge them none of my tax dollar. I only wish I had more I could give.

What absolutely enrages me is that people will choose the politicilly correct stance of "I fight for your freedom to be stupid, but I don't have to like it." Well, **** that. We don't go abroad to fight religious freaks so that religious freaks in another religion at home can thrive. Foriegn and domestic is the oath.

I've a mind to frequent Marine funerals just to catch one of these pieces of ****.

And since people have pulled President Obama into this, he should stand up and do the right thing if he wants to truly project that he supports what his troops are doing for his office.

Except we have "moderate Christians" like Goshin who thinks that stalking and fake 9/11 calls aimed at harrassing businesses are "freedom of religion" (if you're a fundamentalist Christian - he doesn't think fundamentalist Muslims should have the same rights).
 
I support a constitutional amendment that freedom of speech does not apply to the Phelps family.

I suppose that fact also reminds me that I cannot paint Islam with such a broad brush as well. I cannot judge that whole religion on the miniscule percentage of suicide bombers.

It's that 911 thing, I suppose. I have hated all those bastards ever since. I suppose I should start working on that attitude, lest I be branded a hypocrite.

I have to quit equating jihadists to Islam. Just as I have to seperate the Phelps from Christianity.

I believe you. I was just watching the topic of this thread on CNN and they basically taking about this like it is a hate speech issue. I believe the left will use this issue to push for hate speech laws since they can't do with with racism and anti-homosexuality in this country.
