Thanks :) You're all right too. However even though many of my opinions are conservative, we probably have some liberal opinions in common. But I agree, I think this "church" needs a taste of their own medicine, people have the right to protest at this monster's den, so why not? Let them feel it, they were able to do wrong with their right to protest, why shouldn't we do right with our ability to protest?

You know at first I agreed and that people should protest this clan, but then wouldn't we just being giving them more time in the media. Because surely a protest on these SOBs would be covered and I don't know if it would be worth giving them more time on the news than they already have.

I was so sickened when I first saw this story I had sever dificulty even reading about it. Tonight on Chris MATHEWS Chris had the father of the Marine on and it was hard to watch. Chris informed the viewers that O'Reilly had been helping the father fight the ruling. Chris noted that people could donate to a fund tot help the father fight the ruling and pay for the overturning of it. Michael Schmarkonich was on and it was brought out that Mikey SCHMARKY was a greta help to the father.

Yes Virginia reasonable people from both sides of the spectrum can and do cooprate in common causes.
 
It is good to see people trying to help the father either with the ruling or paying the court fees.

"I don't think I'm going to be writing a check until I hear from the Supreme Court," Snyder told Fox News on Tuesday. "I'm not about to pay them anything."

The two-page decision supplied by attorneys for Albert Snyder of York, Pa., offered no details on how the court came to its decision.

On Friday, Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ordered Snyder to pay $16,510 to Fred Phelps. Phelps is the leader of Topeka's Westboro Baptist Church, which conducted protests at Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder's funeral in 2006.

Bill O'Reilly has offered to pay the attorney fees, if they are unsuccessful in their appeal to the Supreme Court.

phelps has more to do or had more to to with democrats. He ran for governer, coming in second several times in the democrat primary for governer.

He won at the District level, which tells me that his case has merit. Had he lost at both the District court and the Appellate court, I would agree with a ruling that he pay Phelps, but he won at one level!

From what I understand it is very normal to grant the defendant's request to have the accuser pay court costs. They could have appealed this but, submitted their paperwork late. This is simply normal court procedure. If the dad wins at the appellate level, of course, he won't have to pay those costs.

It seems the protestors were about 1,000 feet away from the funeral and the dad said he didn't even see them until he watched a video of the protest on the news. I don't think these will help his case.

FYI: Two of the judges were appointed by George W. Bush and one of them was appointed by Clinton. What do you know?

I heard that last night. In fact Chris Mathiews was promoting the fact the O'Rielly was doing it. Kinda interesting how something like this does bring people together.

obviously what phelps clan did is disgusting and horrible. But why is it not protected under the first amendment?? All of us on this board can go down to his church, make signs just as rude, and radical as theirs, and protest till the cows come home.

It is protected by the ffirst amendment...That is the main reason the judges on the 4th circuit overthrew the original verdict..........

I hate to say it but the judges in the 4th circuit were right on this issue......As disgusting as it was the scum are protected by the 1st amdentment..........That is one of the problems with you liberals.....You like to pick and chose on first amendment issues........Well it does not work that way.......

The father will probably lose in the SCOTUS to....
