Nine Charged in Bullying of Massachusetts Teen Who Killed Herself

I'm confused. Who has charged these kids with homicide?

I'm confused. Who has charged these kids with homicide?

Well the media has done a damned good job of it.

But that's not even remotely close to the point here.

That's where I am coming from. I think these girls are culpable for their bullying. They should get the normal treatment that bullies get which is suspension or expulsion for the year, if it was bad enough.

But now that this disturbed young lady has committed suicide, it seems that their consequences have been ramped up to match the reaction of the community and not to be commensurate with their culpability.

I think I'm coming from a similar but slightly different position. I think the bullies should be responsible, criminally, for any behaviors that were against the law. Legally, they have no responsibility in the girl's death. However, one cannot dismiss that the bullying was a factor in her suicide... that does not mean LEGALLY. This kind of behavior comes from many sources, and I would venture to guess that the girl was depressed for many reasons. However, the bullying was a factor in her emotional state.

Wow, amazing. I happen to have a 15 yr old daughter. Whenever we watch a movie depicting nasty high school girls, she always informs me how unrealistic that is, that it never happens at her school.
Doesn't happen that often really. And as bad as it sounds (and it is bad), the girl obviously suffered from mental illness that contributed to her killing herself. A mentally sound person wouldn't commit suicide because someone calls them a slut or throws an energy drink at them. Obviously her issues went way deeper than the bullying.

Nevertheless I think the bullies should get charged with a crime.

I thank God she attends a school where this sort of stuff doesn't occur.
I thank Zeus, but hey Yahweh's cool too I guess.

When I grew up we just had one bully on the block and he was managble.

Today the bully has found there is strength in numbers and calls for help with his cell phone. 16:1 is a crime. Pounding on there head until there braindead or made into a cripple, is no longer uncommon where I live.

Like I said society needs to rethink how to punish kids between 10-18 years old.

Bullies like that deserve to burn. I don't care if some are underage. They should be tried as adults.

No.

Redneck justice doesn't exist in Massechusetts.

Those who are under age WILL be tried as minors.

That is a valid approach. I give you thumbs up for such a logical and well thought out presentation.

I suppose, we all have to admit, there are factors to this particular situation, that we are all unaware of. There has to be. We form our opinions on the best info we accumulate. Jallman could be 100% right. Time will tell. I guess we will all have to put our faith in the courts to see this through.

I am looking at through these eyes here:

Young girl, new high school, feeling like a fish out of water, looking for acceptance and friendship as any teen-ager would. Easy, vulnerable prey, made the same mistake millions and millions of girls in that position do, sleep with some guy thinking that would get her the love and acceptance she needs. (Teenagers ****. Can I get a witness? :rofl) Some here may call her an Irish slut, getting what she deserved, but I simply pity those people.)

Barbi, and her entourage of other air-headed, pep-squad clicker's, don't like the fact that an outsider boinked Chaz and entered herself into the "better-than-thou" gene pool. New doe in the herd. That's, like, so beasty! Gag me with a spoon! <tosses hair.>

Chaz, in repentance for ****ing outside the chosen few, has to betray the Irish slut and join in with doe-heard as they laugh and call Rudolph....er....the Irish slut, names and not only keep her from playing their reindeer games, they focus like a laser to make this vulnerable child life a living nightmare.

Then, Mommy and Daddy Slut get to cut their little girl down from her noose and bury their little girl.

If I were to fall down on one side or the other, not knowing ALL the facts, I prefer to err on the side of the grieving parents and NOT on the side of the bully-class.

I'm funny that way. Call me crazy.

Once again, the good Cap's crystal ball tells no lies.

Was there any doubt that Chaz was a star football player?
