Seven arrested in FBI raids linked to Christian militia group

My assessment is that these are frustrated 'losers' with few prospects, who feel they've been dealt an unjust hand by the U.S. government. With the economy in shambles, and the rapid social 'changes' we are experiencing, I predict more of the same in the next 10 years. These people look like many I've seen in rural America. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a meth connection, to tell the truth...

ETA? Euskadi Ta Askatasuna? Is there a US organisation called ETA or do you have an active Basque separatist movement over there too?

My mistake I meant and environmental terrorist groups ELF I think the name is

You know, up in Michigan, where the militias train, there is a lot of very pretty country. Now I understand why the militias take all that time to go training. Ahh, nothing like getting out in the fresh air, and enjoying nature.

Here is a Google map of one of their training sites:

Lawyers for U.S. militia members seek their release | World | Reuters

They were indicted for attempted use of a WMD? Just owning one doesn't constitute an attempt to use it. This is starting to look like a gun control issue and the militia aspect is an excuse. They planned to kill a law enforcement officer? By their logic they could say that a plan to kill equals an attempt to kill. It's hard to tell what these people did wrong, but it sounds like the law enforcement folks are cooking stuff up too.

If that's the case, then GWB was unquestionably correct in accusing Iraq of having WMDs and acting on same.

Wait....but he lied and people died, right?

Now the guilt or innocense of any of these people aside, can you imagine this happening to an Islamic group here? And then especially during a funeral?

It was a fake funeral. A setup. A sting to lure these goofs into a location where they could be taken down without trouble.

Well done FBI!!!

Puh-leese.

There are militia that claim to be Christian oriented, and there are militia that are purely political in nature.

There are plenty of left wing militant groups that the media doesn't label as militia, but certainly could. ELF and ALF for starters.

The middle east is covered in Islamic Militias.

Epic Fail.

Oh I didn't know any of that. Could you please provide the source for rightwing militia groups that are not Christian oriented or influenced and then list some leftwing militia groups. Thanks.

The Southeast Michigan Militia group is "right wing" as you paint it, but not an officially "christian" organization.

As for left-wing militias, there are or have been plenty of left-wing militant groups who have advocated or actually committed acts of violence or terrorism, such as ELF, ALF, the Black Panthers or the Weathermen. Many of these groups could be referred to as "militia", as they are militant and have an organization based around forceful action. However, the media only applies the term to "right wing" organizations because that is their "script".

I don't think those groups qualify as "militia" but please provide links to such acts that you feel qualify, for each group.
