From the Associated Press, Cuban leader applauds US health-care reform bill. Here's a snippet of what the story covers.

Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on Thursday declared passage of American health care reform "a miracle" and a major victory for Obama's presidency, but couldn't help chide the United States for taking so long to enact what communist Cuba achieved decades ago.

"We consider health reform to have been an important battle and a success of his (Obama's) government," Castro wrote in an essay published in state media, adding that it would strengthen the president's hand against lobbyists and "mercenaries."

But the Cuban leader also used the lengthy piece to criticize the American president for his lack of leadership on climate change and immigration reform, and for his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan, among many other things.

"It is really incredible that 234 years after the Declaration of Independence ... the government of that country has approved medical attention for the majority of its citizens, something that Cuba was able to do half a century ago," Castro wrote.

And we should give a S what Castro says, why ???????

Well, isn't it a bit ironic that a communist leader is praising Obama's health care agenda; and at the same time, in America all these 'crazy extremist' Tea Partiers keep bringing up Obama and socialism? The whole thing is ironic. That's all, I guess.

Wow that proves he is a communist? I discounted the same type of generalization of GW as a Facist when Congress passed bills that had to the Patriot Act.

both are garbage, but to each his own.

Castro and Chavez are going to do anything to piss off those that supported GW.

Because the far-righties will now use this statement to claim that the bill is communist, socialist, fascist Government takeover...blah, blah...

John Wayne Gacy killed a lot of little boys, and he also happened to be a Republican. Should we now assume that Republicans support what John Wayne Gacy did? Hmmm?

I don't really care if some random communist supports the bill. That doesn't say anything about the bill itself, it's just an attempt at proving guilt by association. I bet that Osama Bin Laden approves of Prop 8, but that isn't a valid argument against that Bill either.

As I brought up in a different post, indeed Bush and Obama have something in common.

I've also brought up long before Castro did how Obama's policies are in-line with socialism. Due to much of the evidence coming from Obama's own words, the similarities far exceed generalization, such as the case for GW.

Time to put this lie to rest, and it will be fun doing so:

New Party Said That They “Backed…Candidates;” Only “Backed” Obama In 1996.

“Since it’s founding in 1992, the New Party chapters have backed 200 candidates—and 133 have won their races. Roughly half of our candidates are women; more than a third are people of color.” According to a cache of their website, the New Party only “backed” Obama in 1996; “Illinois: Danny Davis (U.S. House of Representatives, 1996, 1998), Miguel Del Valle (Illinois State Senate, 1998), Willie Delgado (Illinois State Legislature, 1998), Barack Obama (State Legislature, 1996), Michael Chandler (Chicago City Council, 1995), Patricia Martin (Cook County Judge, 1996).”

In other words, Obama never campaigned to get nominated on the New Party Ballot.

True, but most, if not all Democrats are Socialists anyways. They love big daddy government and hate capitalism. No such thing as a Conservative Democrat.

Corrrect. Not the irrelevant crap on socialism, since you demonstrably couldn't tell what socialism was if it bit you, but the part about Conservatives not being democrats. They're autocrats to a man. (the women keep house, and bake.) ;)

Oh damn, I will have to tell all my Democratic friends they are really Socialist. Man will they be surprised.

Socialism?? You mean that which enslaves China, Cuba, Venezuela, the old USSR and Eastern Bloc?? That which Hitler espoused?? And that which is the modern Liberal Democrat party??

For those who keep saying this administration isn't Socialist and certain posters don't know what socialism truly is.....define it for us. What is socialism and how is it different from the Obama administration?

Yes Virginia there is Socialism/Marxism alive and well in America and it has a name.

It's Obama, and all of his Commie friends and heroes will no doubt be making statements like those of Castro in the coming days because Obama is doing what the USSR was unable to do when we had pro-Americans in the White House, that being destroying America only from within with the help of a buch of idiots who are so out of touch with reality they don't even know what they are doing to themselves and the rest of us.

Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.

ObamaCare couldn't have been passed without Nancy Pelosi.

Right now, it is apparent that there is no such thing as a Conservative Republican either.
