The question here is how do we ratchet down the rhetoric, so that acts like this are fewer, and so that we begin having intelligent dialogue on the subject of health care? This is going to be the topic of this thread.

Actions against any politician of this nature are unnacceptable. I would hope no one condones these actions against either side.

When someone goes "Some individuals at the recent War Protest were holding up signs calling for Bush's death. What do you think of this?" then yes, give the straight answer without butts.

If someone instead goes "What are you thoughts of War Protestors calling for the death of George Bush and our Troops, echoing the thoughts of John Kerry that our troops are terrorists?" At that point, they can't just go "Those signs are wrong" and leave it there because the person has essentially baited them into either having to add a "...but" to deal with the other portions that are questionable OR to say nothing and then run it as if the person couldn't put up any defense and thus agreed with your assertion.
It then becomes necessary for the respondant to have the presence of mind to put the 'disclaimer' in front of the answer.

"I think that (x) have legitimate issues, such as (a,b,c), but I do believe that the actions of these few people goes too far".

I haven't seen anyone condone anything. The only thing I've seen are responses like, "well, you people are crazier."

I think that's arguable. At this point, a percentage of both sides of the spectrum seem to have succumbed to some kind of derangement.

Similarly, if someone goes "What do you think about someone cutting the gas line at a congressman's brothers house" should illicit a "that's horrible" type of response. However if it is "What is you opinion on the shouted slurs and the gas line being cut that is suggested to have been spurred by the Tea Party movement and people like Sarah Palin?" then again, suddenly, they're put in a baited situation.

I think the "...but" aspect of this whole situation is as much the fault of those often asking/reporting the questions as those responding sadly.
I understand what you are saying, and again it does come back to the reasonable majority need to take back some control. When the baited quests get asked, we need to condemn it from our own. We have to stop turning a blind eye to every one who is trying to make politics about seeing who can be the bigger asshole.

Re: House GOP No. 2: Someone shot at my office

I believe this is a phony attack.

I believe this single gun shot came from a Liberal who was trying to garner more support for the phony or exaggerated threats coming mostly from Democrats in an effort to draw attention away from the Socialist/Marxist moves they Dems are now pushing.

What better way to claim reality than to be able to say see these wacko Tea Party types are even going after the Jew.

We are under attack from the liberals and the media because they are going to take little isolated or even fake threats and blow them out of proportion to muddy the water and try to get everyone to back off the opposition to the PHONY Obama I don't give a damn about your Health plan.

I think Obama's minions are behind all of this BS and are using Alenskey style tactics distract us.

So far Obama has proven to be Anti-American in everything he does, and half of what he says if you can hear, or read.

It's Wonkette. Wonkette makes hazlnut's earlier comment seem calm and agreeable by comparison.

Okay, so the attacks on Dems were faked by liberals to make rightwing activists look bad, then the Cantor attacks were faked by liberals to back up the fake attacks on the Dems.

You need to make a chart for you conspiracy theories, they are hard to track. Where does Obama's birth certificate go?

So, the Democrats attacked a republican to draw attention away from their socialist/marxist agenda...

There is something flawed in your reasoning, but I can't quite put my finger on it....
