Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia's John Lewis

Regardless, it doesn't matter. The Tea Party Movement was huge, and it sent a very loud and reasonable message to politicians and those in the White House. But the Obama administration and Congress have already shown they don't care and are not listening. Nothing the Tea Partiers have requested has been granted; it's almost like Obama is waiting to see what stance the Tea Partiers will take on a particular issue, and then he will opt to do the exact opposite in response.

So by trying to dumb down any debate by making it personal and attacking the Tea Party just shows readers what type of intellectual lemming you are. Your insults to the Tea Partiers shows everyone that you have no :respekt: for anyone else but those who fully agree with your own opinion. It's a sad reality, to be honest. But the saddest part is that nobody is listening to the actual message the Tea Partiers are trying to get across, and the country simply trolls on like lemmings following a path of slow economic destruction.

America is not the same country it once was, just ten years ago, five year... heck, since yesterday. The socialists won, and the country will be crippled for it with no way to stop the downward spiral and path we've clearly taken. It's a sad day in America... :hm

The "Tea Party" was HUGE only in the minds of Glenn Beck and Fox News Viewers.
The reality was, they drew about 60,000 people and the number was greatly exaggerated by people who wished the number would have been bigger.
The last rally drew about 2000.
Not bad turn outs...but hardly the HUGE movement that supporters wanted to believe they were.
Ross Perots reform movement had more people involved.

You got the part I bolded correct.

Finally...you are correct in your last paragraph. America is not the same that it was 10 years ago. Our integrity and morals were mortgaged by an administration that took us to the level of our enemies. We lost our way and our standing amongst our allies. Thankfully we are on the way to recovery.
We have stopped the downward spiral and in 7 years when Obama's second term is finished, hopefully America's standing will be restored.

I completely agree with you. I don't want to sound like I am justifying what these people did, and I don't want to sound like I am condoning it. However, what I am trying to say is that these people do not reflect the movement as a whole, they are immature individuals, and these a**holes deserved to be wiped of their crap.

Nobody reasonable thinks that they represent the movement as a whole. For those who are unreasonable, you won't convince them and who really cares what they think. It's time and past time for the reasonable people to step forward and say "stop, enough".

The problem for the Tea Partiers is that they have not been able to weed out the nuts and the nuts will make their movement unattractive to the independents. RIP

So what, they have every right to be pissed. I don't condone these actions but you can't say the whole tea party movement is this way. If I remember correctly there were fringe liberal groups slashing tires on election day on vehicles with Republican bumper stickers.

Regardless, the atrocity committed by the Democrats is nothing compared to a racial word of vandalism. They essentially raped the country and smacked their constituents in an arrogant, shady fashion.

This kind of attitude is so ridiculous, it's laughable. One of my "friends" on Facebook compared it to September 11th. Are you effing kidding me?

ALL groups have their share of nuts.

The Rhetoric has gotten real bad lately but let us be honest it is the extreme right that has been the most vicious lately. Rush Limbaugh called the Democrats who voted for "THE BILL" bastards. Some Republican needs to get a set of balls and tell Rus to STFU !!!

When and if a whacks from the left attacks the military when the Lefto is protesting the Iraq War that Lefto needs to be told STFU !!!

So yes I agree in principle that the excesses need to be slapped down.

yet only the honest intelligent person will ever admitt that there are dangerous whack jobs on both sides.

So to both fringes of whacks STFU !!!

You use vulgarity to smear your opposition.... Perhaps you should be the change you seek.

Its funny how in all the video tape of that day no one can find anyone using a racial slur. I certainly don't put it past democrats to exploit racism on the eve of one of their most important bills.

A racial slur that no one can prove actually happened, and a brick through a window that VERY EASILY could have been a moveon.org radical trying to paint conservatives in a bad light.

Oldest trick in the books? Maybe, who knows.

I do remember lefties protesting at the funerals of dead soldiers.

Careful guys. This might end up in the "conspiracy theories" forum if we go run-a-muck on dim possibilities.

Just sayin'.

I wonder if Karl Rove planted that guy that threw his shoe at Bush? :rofl

That's Fred Phelps group -- who are neither left nor right...

"lefties" -- LOL, you sound so redneck-ish when you say that...

Them damn lefties and commies...

I find it a dad hypocritical that you are upset about them saying "nigger" when you call them all by the offensive term "tea bagger."

My thoughts exactly. It's okay to verbally insult those you don't like, but not okay for those you don't like to do the same. Hypocritical imo.

Yeah, calling people retards, stand-up comics, cartoons, the misinformed mass, uneducated, and moronic is so sophisticated......

ALL groups have their share of nuts.

In which case, the Tea Party has more than their fair share of nuts. And they haven't been able to clearly delineate their platform from some of the nutty ideas that their hangers on are floating. Indeed, what platform?

My sense is that past successful third party movements have been based on specific agendas; e.g., Ross Perot's campaign for fiscal responsibility. The Tea Party is based almost entirely on rage: rage about politics, rage about change, rage about rage. And as a movement based on emotion, the Tea Party really can't consolidate and press for any specific agenda that its own people care to agree on. Instead, they would rather get together and just be angry. It can be satisfying, no doubt, but, I think that movement heads in no particular direction at all.

It's no use discussing the issue with you because you've already made up your mind. In my opinion, you are 180 degrees off base in all your assertions.

I think you and your liberal buddies will be quite surprised by the strength of the tea party movement over the next seven months.

The term tea baggers originated by journalists at CNN and MSNBC when they were covering the Tea Party protests. The group does not refer to themselves as tea baggers and most take offense when being called that. The use of tea bags is to parallel the Boston Tea Party and how they rebelled because of taxation without representation.

I am sorry for suggesting that everyone knows what the term tea bagging means. But regardless it is a lewd sexual practice and it was first used as a joke by the left to delegitimize the movement and poke fun at it.

Ok so you are saying that refering to Tea PARTY protestors is like refering to Democrats and Liberals as "socialist" and "anti- Ameican" because someone may not agree with their view. ? So if it an insult and it is delegimitizing to refer to Tea PARTIERS Tea Baggers the very same must be the truth is one calls Democrats or Liberals "Socialists. "

I get what you are saying.

We need to debate between oursleves and among ourselves without using terms such as Tea BAGGERS or 'Socialist" unless we are actually debating with real Tea BAGGERS or Socialists.

Now tha sounds like a great idea to me -

Let us start that right here anD right now !!! OK ??? DEAL OR NO DEAL ???

The FOX "News " Network got the Tea Partiers out there. My neighbor who prides himself at not completeing high school and not being able to read admitted that he saw Fox news and they motivated him to go out and join Tea PARTY PROTESTS. He cannot read so I beleive him.

Point.

Maybe they should be told to "STHU" instead. Much nicer. :rofl

OK STHU does sound much nicer than ST Freak Up !!!

Or to be real nice let's say Shut The H e double hockey sticks up !!!! That way no one needs to hear the work for that place down there were the real Socialists will be going to.

The Tea PARY movements ( ther are actually more than one strain od them ) will indeed to formidable over the next few years or until 2012. Yet if my neighbor who admits that he cannot read the issues and follows only what he is told will that mean that there is long life there ?

My belief is that many followers are poorly informed about history, law, and the Constitution of the US no matter how often or lowdly they spout out phrases.

My neighbor told me that he goes becasue he is "sick of taxation without representation". So he is 130 years late in joining that fight !!!lol

Which word is vulgar ? And who is my oopposition ?

It is sad that the Tea Baggers who try to tell us that they are somehow "patriots " fail to behave in an intelligent, sane, or human manner.
If Tea Baggers continue to behave like that they will eventually reflect upon the Tea BAG movement and sane humans will eventaullay reduce support of the Tea BAG movement.

Unless you are stating you like to have balls rubbed on your chin, you are being vulgar to smear your oppostion.

which is it my friend.

Yeah, I'm sure every single person in the Tea Party movement is just like your neighbor....

Sounds like you need to move to a classier neighborhood if someone with no high school diploma and can't read can afford to move there. Surely there's a nicer trailer park somewhere close by.

I'll bet your neighbor can't spell either can he?????

The Teabaggers, far-right represent everyone's opposition...

The Teabaggers, far-right represent opposition to thought, reason, and pragmatism...

The Teabaggers, far-right represent the most vulgar element of our society -- the don't respect elections or the constitution...

The Teabaggers only know anger, hate, and ignorance...

The Teabaggers are a monster created by opportunists like Beck, Bachmann, and Palin... The three stooges. Every vulgar act of racism and homophobia committed by a Teabagger is on them...
