Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia's John Lewis

Yeah, I bet you found him boring. You probably hung on every word. You still believe Bush was AWOl. Huh?;)

Huh?

Bush? AWOL? I'm sure Bush had no trouble getting a hall pass, anywhere he went, any time in his life. Why would anyone believe he would ever have to go AWOL when he could go anywhere he wanted to in the first place?

Oh yeah. About Dan Rather. I remember he used to be a TV commentator. Kinda like a Walter Cronkite and barbara Walters. But I can't recall any lasting impression any of his work left on my mind. Wasn't he a war correspondant back in the 60's?

Sorry. I couldn't name five movies stars in 5 seconds either. My head is just weird that way.

But I do know the new whacko ones. Who doesn't?

Those old school TV guys kinda looked, acted and spoke all the same, no? Bland.

I disagree, Rev. If you read most of the writings from the age of enlightment you will find that they are even more liberal than most liberals are today. Example: "The Rights Of Man" by Tom Paine.

You would hardly find anyone more liberal than Ben Franklin or even James Madison for that matter.

Your filthy hippy comrade.

wait. show me how any of those supported any statist ideals.... :lamo

I don't have to because liberals are not automatically statists or anything else for that matter.

I would say that liberals are free thinkers though [I put that there so you can make a snappy come back].:)

right... ok well let me know when you want to step up to the plate...... ;)

Its 48 seconds of hours of protest? Also it was made by someone in the crowd who supports the tea party movement. Why if you support the tea party movement and have footage of disgrace would you give it out anyway. That would be stupid.

The fact if Boehnor and Cantor came out to say stop and condemn the violence it happened so what are you really looking for?

There was no violence reported, only claimed.

For those who payed attention to Liar Lewis's original story it was during this 48 Second walk through the crowd that he claims he was heard the epithet.

The Congressional Black Caucus .. is little more than a collection of old school bigots who have no business anywhere near congress.

I disagree Vader. They went through a lot of hard knocks and abuse to get there despite overwhelming hatred from their opponents.

"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone", was a sign that was before you were born. I remember traveling the South in the early sixties. All the eateries had a segregated window that said "colored" above it.

I don't think you have any idea of what they went through.

I had a black friend in the army who was a friend of Medgar Edwards and he told me a few stories about what it was like growing up in Cleveland, Tenn; where everybody with a pickup truck had guns in rifle racks and cb radios.

HAHAHAHHA

Andrew Breitbart offers to give 10 grand to the united negro college fund for any solid evidence that the word "nigger" was thrown at the black congressman as they claim.

So far, NO MONEY HAS HAD TO BE PAID :rofl

It’s time for the allegedly pristine character of Rep. John Lewis to put up or shut up. Therefore, I am offering $10,000 of my own money to provide hard evidence that the N- word was hurled at him not 15 times, as his colleague reported, but just once. Surely one of those two cameras wielded by members of his entourage will prove his point.

Oh dear, this was the first thread I looked at after googling "best political forum" and seeing the "bias optional, civlity a must" rubric. And the first post in the thread repeatedly uses the insulting "tea bagger" and goes downhill from there. Where I come from "civility" means you accord your opponents the presumption of good will, don't consider them "morons," etc.

Well, I'll try.

I am of two minds on this story, assuming it happened at all, which I don't accept as a given. First one is, this is the biggest domestic policy measure since the 1930s and will affect the lives and fortunes of every American, so of course emotions run high, and of course a few nuts or marginal viewpoints become unhinged by it - so what? Making that an "issue" is pure partisan exploitation. (Of course there were no unhinged remarks back when war protests were the thing, were there? Hah!)

The second is the very real possibility that these were agents provocateurs engaged by some far left interest or group. A group like BAMN is perfectly capable of such an act, and probably individuals associated with ACORN also.

Had I been there I would have questioned the individual closely, and if it wasn't apparent that he wasn't just a complete whacko or moron, tried to follow him back to a car to get a license plate number. A real journalist (they're the ones who view political events skeptically rather than at face value) would use that number to find the vehicle's owner and look for lefty associations.

Don't mind the mouth foaming assholes that use "teabagger", they cant help it, its a fetish of thiers after all.. ;)

Many days later, and still no evidence. Yep, this was your typical hate-mongering lie by the left to drum up emotion and distract from the outrage from citizenry that Congress passed this **** against the will of the people.

Fortunately, the race card is over-used, it has very little effect on people anymore. The issuer becomes immediately irrelevant.

No, they got there through racial gerrymandering that was put in place by section 5 of The Voting Rights Act.

By this time someone would have come forward. Its time to call this claim a lie.

I grew up during that period as well. What you say is true. That being said we call all live in the past, hold grudges, bemoan our fate of being victims and curse the world for our inability to suceed.

Or, we can understand that the world is not fair for a lot of reasons. But I will not let skin color, religion or sexual preference get in the way of my being sucessful.

Many feel that this endless crying about the past has held people back from doing well today. It is fine to remember the past. Then use it as motivation today.

I sat there when the president of the operating group I worked at said that he was proud to have an all Catholic staff but with one execption who happened to be me.

I was long in my job after he had been fired for altogehter different reasons.

sadly, hater is a bi-partisan characteristic.

There are haters and there are people who hate haters, which makes them haters, so, I guess you could have a good point there, i hate to say.
