OMG did you just walk right into it. RIGHT INTO THIS? You, trying to make someone feel foolish when it is YOU who are displaying ignorance

    Take A Different Tact ( or ) Take A Different Tack :

This expression has nothing to do with tactfulness and everything to do with sailing, in which it is a direction taken as one tacks—abruptly turns—a boat.

To “take a different tack” is to try another approach.

Tact for tack is a common error, but to compound the stupidity by criticising the person who tactfully corrects you without ridiculing you is one egregiously wrong tack to take.

How's your tongue feeling after that?
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

    This is New York.

Do kids not break windows with bricks anymore?

Maybe the guy that did it didn't even know what the place was.

Was anything stolen? Crackheads don't normally care if it is a politcal office or anything else.

Why don't we all hold our comments until they find out who did this and why.

Well, the brick had a note on it: "Exremism [sic] in defense of liberty is no vice". That does not seem like the work of kids.

Further, a blogger in Alabama is encouraging such behavior:

Blogger encourages throwing bricks at Democratic headquarters | democratandchronicle.com | Democrat and Chronicle

A blogger from Pinson, Ala., has encouraged his readers to break windows at Democratic headquarters across the country as a show of opposition to health care reform.

The blogger, Mike Vanderboegh, contacted the Democrat and Chronicle after the newspaper on Sunday published a Web story about the vandalism at the committee’s University Avenue headquarters, which happened Saturday or Sunday.

“Well, it seems New Yorkers continue to put the rest of you Sons of Liberty to shame,” the blog reads in a post dated today, with news reports of the Rochester vandalism.

The brick had a note attached, which read “Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice,” credited to Barry Goldwater, said Democratic Committee spokesman Sean Hart.

On Friday, the blog, Sipsey Street Irregulars, encouraged its readers to “Break their windows. Break them now.”

“Yet, if we do a thorough job of breaking Democrat windows, I am sure that the GOP will profit from the example,” the blog reads. “So, if you wish to send a message that Pelosi and her party cannot fail to hear, break their windows.”

The windows at the Niagara Falls office of Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-Fairport, were broken on Friday.

The blog claims windows were broken in other cities but does not have news media reports of such action.

Well if one blogger condones it, it must represent an entire movement.
You should try to remember, ideas are conveyed by researching information, vetting sources, and confirming said information. Not by regurgitating talking points given to you by your "news" station.

I think it deserves to be called stupidity, even if it's isolated stupidity.

Of course not. It's just the sort of thing going on out there. One act begets another and it escalates.

I don't see ANY evidence of this.

One day, somebody threw the brick through a window. The next day, a blogger picks that up and advocates more of the same.

Democratic offices vandalized across the country - KansasCity.com

Vanderboegh posted the call for action Friday on his blog, “Sipsey Street Irregulars.” Referring to the health care reform bill as “Nancy Pelosi’s Intolerable Act,” he told followers to send a message to Democrats.

“We can break their windows,” he said. “Break them NOW. And if we do a proper job, if we break the windows of hundreds, thousands, of Democrat party headquarters across this country, we might just wake up enough of them to make defending ourselves at the muzzle of a rifle unnecessary.”

Vanderboegh told The Kansas City Star that the action was meant to “get everyone’s attention.”

“What I was trying to get across was that people do not understand how on the edge of civil conflict this country is,” he said.
