I don't agree with your opinion. I posted because the papers came out with the numbers from MCSO's sweep. Since the news didn't cover it, wonder how many were arrested by the other police departments in Maricopa county during the same time frame? Also the stats don't include other MCSO arrests. The article only repored the "sweep".

By the way, I am not pro crime. I'll take your jab, its not much.

Could be but I highly doubt they would just hold a press conference for simply doing their jobs.

The most efficient crime sweep I ever saw was in Anchorage Alaska. In one day, they arrested over 150 people who had warrants of various types. They did it by luring them to a specified spot telling them they had won some kind of prize. When they showed up, they served the warrant and arrested them. I thought it was pretty funny.

I wonder if there is a law in some place that prevents such procedures?

Its not entrapment, because they already had a warrant to arrest them for crimes already committed. It was simply an easy way to bring them all into custody without the hassle of tracking them all down individually.

I don't think so because of the fact that they already had warrants for their arrest. Plus, the police are allowed to use deceit to obtain confessions plus they are permitted under cover operations. Don't quote me on this, but I think the only thing they have to divulge is that they are associated with law enforcement and even then it's only if they are asked.

Re: Arizona sheriff launches immigration sweep

There are crime sweeps with varying degrees of success held in Cities across the Nation they would be needed less if Cities like San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco were not run and controlled by City Councils and Mayors who violate the law and their oath of office by presiding over sanctuary Cities that serve no good purpose and only invite crime.

The Mexican Drug Cartels have partnered up with local gangs and even national gangs and threaten the peace not only alone the Border but in every town in America, and the attitude that illegals are just here to work and make a better life is one really stupid ignorant thing to say.

Drug dealers can say the very same thing.

We are Nation of laws and those like Janet Napolitano and Obama and others who don't want the laws enforced because they claim some BS about tolerance are part of the problem and are in violation of their oath of office.

Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.

His "street sweeps" are a grave insult to the constitution. I understand folks wanting to the police do something about illegal immigration, but that doesn't excuse justifying his unacceptable behavior. You can easily enforce the law without breaking it in the process.
Let me see if I can help you learn to think a bit more rationally.

The Good Sheriff is despised and feared by those with a poor understanding of national sovereignty and the rule of law. Many of those persons represent powerful and well funded subversive groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union.

The brighter students already will have already understood my point, but for the benefit of the rest of the class, I will continue.

None of these groups or individuals has been able to gain a serious injunction or prosecution of the Sheriff, despite decades of futile attempts. Rationality compels us to conclude that this must be due to the obvious fact that he operates within the confines of the law.

Why don't you cite all these "futile attempts to prosecute" the Sheriff? As far as I know, this is the first time he has been formally investigated by the federal government in criminal cases. Furthermore, he certainly has lost numerous civil cases and cost the county quite a bit of money through his actions. He also was just sanctioned by a judge for destroying evidence in relation to one of his sweeps.
