"All Black People" Asked to Leave S. Jersey Wal-Mart

I never said that...I just said that I choose not to shop in the same stores.....
But I also think that ugly people often choose to keep themselves that way. As anyone who knows me could tell you, my scale of good looking people is quite wide. I find about 90% of the population attractive. Its only when people make no effort, which appeared to me to be the case of the people that I saw in Wal-Mart.

Problem in the US in general is the large number of people who are overweight and obese. Though, from my experience, I would say the BMI of the average Wal Mart customer is even higher than the already obsenly high BMI of the average American.

I can assure you if some dumbass got on the intercom and said for all Jews, homos, white people, black people, short people, dumb people, blond people or any other group to leave the store, I would have laughed. Ninety percent because of what I imagined the idiot on the intercom to be like and the other 10% because of the reactions of those around me.

Sweet jesus people are far too easily offended.

Should have just said "Everyone with a BMI over 25, leave the store." They could then simply close the store down for lack of customers.

The working class and poor are statistically more overweight than the affluent.
They also comprise the majority of Walmart shoppers.
Therefore, it makes sense that there would be more obesity among Walmart shoppers than among the gen-pop.

Blacks and whites actually get along very well in the South. They tend to be more open about their differences, but they mix company more harmoniously than they do in the north.

This is one of those great myths.

That flies in the face of the experience I had living in Georgia. I went to grad school and taught high school there. The races were far more (self-)segregated than I ever saw growing up in the northeast.

Yeah, it sure is "one of the great myths"- one of the great Southern myths, that is- and it pre-dates the Civil Rights era.
The great myth of Jim Crow was that blacks were complicit in their own oppression.

Ok, I have not been clear enough.

It's the absurdity that is funny, not the racism.

Racism/bigotry I hate, in all it's forms.

But it's still absurdly funny.

I mean, seriously, predetermining your opinion on someone just because they are of a different genetic makeup?

Stupid.

And absurd.

And funny BECAUSE of its absurdity.

Hitler had absurdly funny opinions about Jews.

If he had been just one bigoted mother****er, ranting about such bull****...Then I would laugh at his absurdity.

But he sought power, gained it, and used that power to make his stupid bigoted views law.

That reduced the humor factor greatly, because of the horrors and death directly linked to him.

But it's still absurd, and causes a painful mental chuckle at the total absurdity of it.

I highlighted two comments. I would say these are probably two of the most disturbing comments I have seen at DP. So, you think that Hitler's laws that sentenced 6 million Jews to death reduced the humor of his racism greatly? Only greatly, huh? You mean that those laws that sentenced those 6 million to die didn't eliminate that humor, it just REDUCED IT GREATLY? And the thought of the outcome of Hitler's bigotry causes a MENTAL CHUCKLE?!!! I would suggest that you find a different way of expressing your "humor" as you are really bad at it. Because, from how you phrased it, I can tell you quite honestly, that you expressed no humor at all. Your comment was quite offensive.

The problem with YOUR "opinion" and why IT is so absurd is because racism often turns into action; it's not just some concept that can be dismissed. You and others here completely miss that point, and I find those of you that do as being the ones who, as rivrrat said, need to get out and socialize more. You folks do not live in the real world at all.

I've already expressed my opinion on the announcement at Wal-Mart. To me it wasn't funny in the least, but it also was not something to boycott Wal-Mart over.

But the general population in the US is also overweight. And I have seen many extremely obese affluent people in the U.S. as well. All income brackets in the U.S. are overweight. Sure, the Wal-Mart income brackets perhaps more than others (largely because they make horrible eating choices) but Americans in general make poor health choices as well.

And... you all want to discuss/debate this issue, fine. For the most part, I see no problems with what is being discussed; it is a debatable topic with many different viewpoints. However, in debating, any degrading of race or ethnicity, since that is what we are discussing could be hit with a Hate Speech violation.

And since there have been quite a few Insubordination infractions as of late, I will remind you to abide by Rule 6A.

Oh really? According to whom?

According to whom?

I already stated that it was anecdotal, so these are my opinions.

When I was in elementary school through the mid to late 1960's the only blacks I remember being taught about were Crispus Attucks, Benjamin Banneker, George Washington Carver and Constance Baker Motley. At home I knew few more famous blacks like Willie Mays, Nat King Cole and Lena Horne, but I new what they did not seem very important. In school only the three dead ones that the teachers seemed to hold in any esteem or even mention. Crispus died for freedom; George did many things with peanuts; Benjamin drew plans for constructing the nation's capitol and made a clock, while Ms. Motley became a federal judge. That was it! Anybody else who did anything great or important was white.

It was not until the mid 1070's and early 1980's any kind of history included the contributions of Africans and Chinese to Mathematics, Egyptians to agriculture etc. Even in regular school subjects it was said the Greeks pretty much invented everything.

You wonder why this is siad now?

Welcome to my world.

So, who are your role models now? Surely it is not Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson!? I grew up in the 70s and early 80s so I caught some of the new curriculum, prior to it being taken over completely by multiculturalists. I mean there is recognizing the contributions and accomplishments of other cultures and ethnic groups, while still recognizing western culture, and then is excluding western culture. One thing is for sure, western culture gave us liberal democracy and constitutional republics and there is no taking that from them. The black community helped mold that and make it what it is today. It is the American culture, rooted in both western european roots and african roots.

Not initially you didn't; you stated it categorically, as fact, and I quoted and responded to that in my next post.
You then went back and edited it, trying to mitigate how crappily racist it sounded.

I am inclined to believe that your initial statement is a more accurate reflection of your true beliefs.

I did edit to clarify. I have a tendency to state my opinion as fact and have been advised my the mods that I should state that it is my opinion.

I still believe blacks are more racist than whites. I fail to see how that's a racist position.

You also failed to answer my question:
Why are you making black people out to be the victims?

But I failed to ask, even if history was skewed to the greeks, why dismiss alll education as a "white-man's education" and not get educated at all? That is what is so ignorant and stupid. They only hurt and limit themselves.

Jay Leno joked on his show that the health care vote by the house would either be on St Patrick's day or the day after. He then said that the members would either be drunk or have a hangover.

Is Leno Irish?

Leno really does suck.

CC, I am unsure where to find the rules to check Rule 6A. Am I treading close to a violation with my comments? Thanks.

Going off that alone, maybe it was racist (technically!), maybe it wasn't. If it was a dig at Irish people, then yes, it was racist. However, there's a very popular thing that just everybody does regardless of their heritage on St. Patrick's Dat: drink.

What's the difference between ST. Patrick's day & MLK day?.....

Arrest made in Wal-Mart racial announcement incident - CNN.com

Can anyone tell me what law was broken?......

Had you read the initial story you would have seen that police were investigating it as a possible bias crime. What ever the hell that is.

I have never heard the term but apparently in S. Jersey they have such a thing.

I find it curious that in the story linked about the arrest there is no information on the suspect other than it's a male.

Is this a white racist, a Mexican agitator, a Black trouble maker, or an Asian prankster?

I see this as being in bad taste as i said before but I don't see it rising to the level of a crime.

If there are laws that make it illegal to be biased do we lose the ability to choose you favorite ice cream, chocolate over Vanilla, or your favorite signer Hanna Montana over Lady Gag Gag. lol.

We all have biases and this society is getting way too damn PC for our own good. Somethings are just in bad taste and don't require Government sanctions.

Public scorn and ridicule should suffice.

Very true, and you know the story just sounds like a bunch of Douchebags who thought it be funny, not a deliberately planned attack by the KKK or something lol. I must say if it was they've lost some self esteem.
