There is no 'race thing'. We elected a ****ing black president. **** people who bitch and moan about racial bull****. I just point at Obama and say, "What up wit dat, yo?" :rofl Ahhh... I kill myself

Anywho, *some* people want to see 'racism' in every goddamn thing they can. They WANT to see it. And if they WANT to see it, they WILL see it. Simple as. Everything can be distorted into a racial issue. Mostly I ignore them all like the annoying little gnats they are. The race issue in this country ended on Nov 4, 2008. Everything else is insignificant and can be dealt with by people just shutting the **** up and stop looking for something to be offended by every minute of every day.

Seriously, some people need to find something positive in their lives to focus on.

I agree with everything you said. Its exhausting. if people werent so invested in there BEING a race thing I doubt we would be HAVING a race thing still...

This is so stupid it is not even funny. A current of racism exist in this country, and it comes from all sides. It is not discussed openly, but it permeates almost every thing in this country. The good old boy network is alive and well. People calling for racial profiling etc, yea it's gone.

People who think racism ended because a black guy got elected president are just naive. All his election meant is it is not as open as it was at one time.

Ill tell those that think it is gone to take a challenge. If you are white, go to Ford Heights Illinois and walk down the street at 3:00am. If you are black do the same in Bridgeport Illinois.

I am sorry it is still as ingrained a part of our society as religion.

Don't even try the "playing the race card bull****" it does not float. It is a fact racism in the US against minority's and visa versa is as strong as ever.
Can you think of any places in this country where it wouldnt be safe to be white and walking the street at 3 am? OF COURSE racists exist...as long as there isnt a bounty on ignorant people there will be racists. The problem is we take the actions of those and indict a culture and group. ANd at some point...that has to stop.

What?

OF COURSE racists exist...as long as there isnt a bounty on ignorant people there will be racists.

Dident you just agree with this...

"There is no 'race thing'. We elected a ****ing black president. **** people who bitch and moan about racial bull****. I just point at Obama and say, "What up wit dat, yo?" Ahhh... I kill myself"

So which is it?

The problem is we take the actions of those and indict a culture and group. ANd at some point...that has to stop.

I agree. whats the plan to stop it?

Obviously a prank. Me and my friends used to mess around with the intercoms in departments stores all the time. We never said harsh and offensive things like this but we did have some fun.

Check out the pranks these guys did...

Rick rolled an entire store. Now that's funny. The Sir-Mix-Allot kid rocked to.

What?

Live. Accept that there are going to be idiots...no race is impervious. Maybe we all need to be a little less quick to the race card and a little more quick to realize we probably ALL are pretty similar...we have bills to pay, lives to live, etc.

Maybe we ought to watch and learn from our kids...BEFORE they get poisoned by adults attitudes.

What was you first reaction upon seeing this headline?

My first thought was we have two choices here, one is it was done by some racist and was just a not so funny prank done by someone having a private laugh.

Thought number two, was that if any law suit comes up saying something Walmart didn't take the proper measures to insure that this kind of thing can't happen, it was done by either the black person filing the suit or someone connected to the suit in an attempt to get rich quick.
I would say we should know pretty quickly if this is the case.

It also could have been a disgruntled former employee or customer.

I never heard of a Bias Crime.

I think it's really stupid to blame the Store for an act that may have been nothing more than some redneck having fun.

Having a boycott is a racist act un light of not knowing the who, and why of this.
Now why would you assume a redneck is racist?

It would be funnier if it happened down here in the south and they asked the rednecks to leave the store. Good lord, Walmart is the home to the tatoo>teeth crowd down here.
The pot calling the kettle black.

Personally I do not think a prank by a disgruntled employee or customer is newsworthy.

Journalism, as we used to know it, is gone. Nowday we must be entertained by the news.

No kidding. A kid pulled a prank. NEWS FLASH!!

If he didn't say "black", you would have never heard about it. Classic example of making an issue of something that is a non-issue.

If they catch the culprit, will they bring that person on hate misdemeanor charges?

I think they would try him in the court of political correctness.

I was just thinking, you know, that what would happen if someone did this during this season's college basketball championship game?

It is funny you say that because South Carolina isn't allowed to hold any major NCAA event because the Confederate Flag and what some people say to African American players. They say it makes it really uncomfortable and difficult to play there so the NCAA said no to tournaments being held there.

That's interesting, though not suprising, having spent some time there. They are still fighting the civil war there.

I lived there for 11 years and to be fair to the state is has gotten better. It is still a shame though that people have to fear playing in the state. A friend of mine plays basketball at USC and he said at times the comments people say to them are just terrible and he doesn't blame others for not wanting to play there.

Wow, sounds like Boston.

Wow, sounds like Boston.

I am not saying Boston is perfect, because I know it isn't. But when kids say the further South they go the more racial slurs they hear, it makes them not want to play there and it is a problem. College sports regardless of where they are being played isn't the place for such words.

And like I said it is better in SC than it was even a few years ago. You hear less slurs and that is a good thing. Soon enough the ban will be lifted.

Hmmm, the SEC dominates football and the ACC dominates basketball. Not quite sure I agree with that.

Boston is known for some of the most deep-seeded, "silent" racism of any city in the country. Ask Bill Russell, Cornbread Maxwell, Larry Bird, etc.

Blacks and whites actually get along very well in the South. They tend to be more open about their differences, but they mix company more harmoniously than they do in the north.

This is one of those great myths.

OK, I don't know what that has to do with the fact that racial slurs still are said a lot to the players.

Again I said I know Boston has its problems.

And again I have said it has gotten better. It still doesn't change the fact racial slurs are said and it makes it very uncomfortable to play in and to watch. Like I said I know players that have complained about it, and they aren't all black, and I have sat through it and it disgusted me.

Racial slurs are the utterances of uneducated people with very limited command of language. And it goes both ways in that regard.

It's like people that cuss all the time. It just shows a lack of vocabulary.
