I will quote South Park "Jessie Jackson, is not the Emperor of black people."

So we should judge all whites in the boonies by the likes of David Duke etc? Interesting.

I actually agree. You should have put it this way.

I wish the media would stop portraying us as helpless idiots. Many I know from school did as well or better than I. You never hear about us to much. Would not make for good news.

It's funny, when you do we are made fun of and told we "left" our people behind etc. Or like in the case of Collen Powell, it was only because of government help and affirmative action.

No, he is not the "exception".
Stop trying to play "good nigger/bad nigger", okay?
He's one of the few "good" ones; you're talking about all the others, right?

    NO.

If that's true and you are the rule, then that is immensely newsworthy.

I am under a false impression that inner-city kids see drug dealers and hip-hop stars and athletes who can't read as their role models and usually the drug dealership is most readily accomplished, then they are into gangs and violence and juvie, and adult crime and prison and back to the projects earning welfare.

I agree that the media should stop portraying you as helpless idiots. I occasionally watch a program of blacks in America and the success stories are way out of balance with the distress stories.

Looks like is was a prank by some 16 year old. "The arrest of a 16-year-old Washington Township, N.J., boy for saying “All black people, leave the store now” over a Wal-Mart public-address system is, in retrospect, in the same family of ill-considered pranks that might’ve been used by a member of the Brat Pack in a 1980s John Hughes film."

"But days after a government statement that at least one report of a runway Toyota Prius was also, if not a prank, at least solely driver error, the Wal-Mart arrest shows that, in some cases of apparent corporate negligence or even racism, the media could use a little more skepticism."

Wal-Mart ?All black people leave? arrest a media wake-up call / The Christian Science Monitor - CSMonitor.com

"According to the police, the boy picked up a public-address telephone in the Wal-Mart in Washington Township, one of two dozen accessible to the store’s customers, and said, “All black people, leave the store now.”

Looks like Wallyworld will have to lock up PA system for now on. Wonder how many will still blame WalMart?

It is. Black females are leaving the males in the dust as well. They are doing it by leaps and bounds, but you never hear about it.

Most of those athletes now days have good college educations. Why do you think they can't read???

Seems to me you spent allot of time attributing only the worst case scenario to blacks.

However far to many do idolize the wrong element, but this is not a majority.

That's great! I actually knew that university enrollment for black women was way up.

You got me on this one. Bad generalization. I do that a lot. Most athletes, black and white, struggle with academics, but schools have gotten better. I am from NC and the school there that excelled was Duke. Their players REALLY got an education.

Only because we have been focusing on where many blacks fall short. I went to a small college and studied Physics. We graduated 5 in my senior class. 2 of them were black women that rock in Physics! My first job after college I worked with a preachers daughter from SC and she was totally together. My boss' boss is a retired Marine Corp Colonel. I have known a lot of bright, talented blacks in my life so far. You are another.

I have also run across a lot of victimized blacks. They are usually Democrats.

It's Wal-Mart's ****ing fault because they don't have better security on their PA systems.

Then again, if they did, you would never hear anyone use them.

Considering the average mental capacity of Wal-Mart managers...

So... if you sort of knew all this already, why have you been making these preposterous and offensive racist blanket statements?

First of all, I may be guilty of overgeneralizations, but I never meant all blacks fall into a particular category. That is ridiculous.

Second, I haven't been making racist statements.

Third, there is a marked distinction between the successful blacks I have know and the helpless blacks I have known: it is the idea of victimization.

The successful blacks I have known don't consider for a moment that they are victims. I have talked to some of them about it. They aren't looking for reparations. They don't rely on welfare or government assistance. They work for a living. They don't feel as if they are owed anything. They know they have to get it for themselves. They follow Bill Cosby's prescriptions.

The helpless blacks all thought they were victims and somebody owed them something. Worthless. The Democratic party (I am no Republican) promotes this idea of victimization. Many inner city ministries promote this idea. A telling sign was the reaction of these people to Bill Cosby's talk a few years back. They blamed Bill Cosby for falsely promoting success, when the people were victims. Unbelievable.
