    Racism frequently leads to action.
Why are you not getting that?
Why are none of you getting it?
You are making no effort at all to explain why you feel the holocaust was funny; you've merely amended it to add that it's a rather poignant sort of funniness, one which causes you to weep humorous metaphysical tears at the absurdity of it all.

This does nothing to clarify anything, except that you don't get it, but don't worry: you're obviously part of a very large club.

The effect of the hate crime add-on is to make any first degree crime presumptively a max sentence, and to allow judges to increase the sentence even beyond that.
Ok, I figured that is what it was saying referencing a first degree underlying crime.

Something about it I just don't like. It is like it institutionalizes discrimination. The underlying crime should already account for extenuating circumstances like a violent crime based on discrimination. Hell, I haven't thought it through, but aren't all crimes some form of discrimination?

Can't answer that, except for myself, see above.

    Damnit...

    Ok.

I do not think the holocaust was funny.

    Never have.

I obviously misphrased something, or you misinterpreted something, that gave you the impression I did.

    My mistake.

    Yes, I am.

    Humans.

    Very large club.

    You're a member.

    Edit: To clarify:

I find the absurd stupidity required for someone to be bigoted funny. Not the bigotry itself. See the difference?

Now about that being offended bit. I fail to see how the black people in the store being offended translates to them being victims. Someone being offended does not make them a victim in my book. I notice 1069 has failed to respond to any post questioning her wild claims. I guess you know when you are holding an indefensible position.

So we agree it is OK for me to call them assholes, correct?

They were the victims of a poorly thought out joke. They were victims, but not in the way you are trying to portray it. Some of them anyway. Some took it harder than others, so what?

That is what I get out of your posts anyway.

Sure! Did I say otherwise? I may have, I am not sure.

Yeah, I think that is borderline victimhood, but I see your point.

It seems the entire welfare/projects/inner city mentality is that blacks are victims and deserve special consideration. **** that. Just like poor whites, they need to get off their ass and work for a living. Hard to do in a recession, I realize... What is the word for blacks getting paid for being the ancesters of slaves? **** that too. They just want free money.

Blacks need to get an education and change their attitude about being successful in school. Those are the real winners. Not the drug dealers and the hip hop artists.

This entire statement is disgustingly racist.
How dare you presume to lecture "blacks"- a large faceless mass of humanity you clearly do not see as individuals and know nothing about- on what they need to do?

There are a helluva lot more whites on welfare- and on the unemployment rolls- than black people.

    Medice, cura te ipsum.

This is NOT how you communicated it before. Thank you for clarifying. I can see this point. My only caveat is that there is often a connection between the bigoted thoughts and the bigoted actions. I don't find humor in true bigotry because of it's potential danger, though I do see its absurdity.

I apparently should have worded my previous posts more carefully, as a couple persons appear to have misunderstood what I was attempting to communicate.
