Interesting that you can claim that, as in the previous post, folks are defending their use of the n-word. They will have their way, and you can't do anything about it. Misplaced loyalties, I'd say.

In the context of what I stated, yes you offered no evidence to counter my argument. We call that a cop out and it has nothing to do with this "nigger" as a word debate.

I can't think of the right word that describes cultivating a community attitude for doing the right thing in the cases of:

  • single teenage mothers
  • deadbeat dads
  • single parent families
  • high divorce rate

Can you?

"Nigger" is just like any other word. It only holds power in the context of its use. Just like I used the word "nigger" in quotations as a means of pointing to the word, isolated from context. Or in the context of "Did you hear _____ call ____ a 'nigger'? What an asshole!!??!!" as being isolated into a quotation by another person.

But never will you see the word "nigger" used as a means of offense directed at anyone here. If it happened, this whole forum would come down with wrath on the person who made such a gross transgression against our sensibilities.

You need to get a grip, pal.

This is way out of line, Aaronssongs. Blackdog is a respected member here, and it's no doubt because he conducts himself with dignity, class and intelligence. It has nothing to do with his race.

You know, I thought that announcement at WalMart was funny until I read some of BD's posts here. Then it really hit me in a way I hadn't considered. He's not an alarmist, a race baiter or a shrill victim. He's a man who has seen and felt the effects of actual racism in his young lifetime, and his words and experiences brought a new & clarified perspective to at least one white chick on this forum. You should thank him. He was able to do something you cannot seem to do. And he does it without the faux dramatics.
