Don't get me wrong either. What Jallman did was funny, he did not know the family was behind him and the family did over react if they were giving him the evil eye.

The announcement over the PA was just so wrong.

I grew up in segregated Chicago, it's not funny.
No. There was nothing funny about what Jallman did and the very fact he couldn't be man enough to turn around and apologize to that family says a lot about him as a person.

LOL I've never claimed to be tolerant of everything unlike some of you and I certainly never used black racial history as a comparison to homosexual plight in this country.

Is this really that hard for you to grasp? Seriously?
So you're saying that you are a hypocrite. Okay.

Not a bit but as I said you have as well as your buddies have. That's the hypocrisy.

So you're saying that you are a hypocrite. Okay.
How am I being a hypocrite? I never once claimed I was tolerant of everything.

I did not find it funny at all. If it was an employee he should be fired. It wasn't the store's fault, however, and a boycott is an over reaction and probably will make the situation worse. But funny? Not at all.

The reason that some people laugh is that it hurts (ref: "Stranger In A Strange Land")

One of my favorite movies was "The Jerk" with Steve Martin. Sometimes the only way to the truth is through humor.

Can you shed some light into this post? It hurts who? The person laughing? If so, in what way does it hurt?

Throughout "Stranger In A Strange Land" novel, the Martian (stranger) keeps asking why people laugh. The Martian, who was human was born and raised on Mars.

Upon arrival on earth it is a question he keeps asking over and over (Why do people laugh?). I guess the point is that humor is an escape mechanism to rid ourselves of the pain of humor.

If you stop to think of it this seems true.

Re: "All Black People" Asked to Leave S. Jersey Wal-Mart

Growing up in a rural part of San Diego County CA. with people of many races I was never exposed to the racism that I learned about from the problems I saw on TV during the civil right conflicts of the 60s.

I have had friends and employees from every ethnic walk of life and sexual persuasion. In fact my best friend who my children refereed to as uncle was from a minority. I was given the privilege of being beat man at his wedding.

I have always judged people based on there performance human beings and or employees and to this day can't understand why people are racists.

When I was younger the big thing for a time was Polish jokes, and there were jokes about how the first thing the French Army during WW II was taught was how to surrender.

I didn't know that people from Japan were Japanese, because all i ever heard as a kid was Damn Japs, because my Dad and all the men of the day were Vets.

It still didn't affect my treatment of people as individuals. that was up to them.

Some of the posts are funny but I can understand that this incident is upsetting to some people but as was said by another. I believe that an over reaction to the stupid act of one person is not a reflection of the Nation as a whole or the Store where this took place.

Never forget the Tawana Brawley case from 1987 when a HOAX created such a mess and it turned out she was lying to cover her own misdeeds that could have lead to a great deal of death and destruction.

Had it been up to Al Sharpton we would have had riots in the streets across America.

That's because Al Sharpton is a racist. There are racists on both sides of the issue who exploit it for money.

We were off to the races from there, however all the joy left Mudville when I saw this the above post and the mental picture came into focus. I thought I have seen the spandex woman and does she get around.

At that point I felt sad followed immediately by being sort of sick to my stomach and then the thought of the woman trying to reach her goal of 1000 lbs popped into my head and how her Mr. Lucky supports her effort.

Now it's like a song you can't get out of your head. I think they call them flash backs. I'm having spandex flash backs.

    Thanks pal.
