House may try to pass Senate health-care bill without voting on it

Oh I vote, sweetness, I vote :)

Just let that sink in for a few minutes.
Proof positive of the need to pass a test in order to do so...

congrats on kucinich, he's ONE

(tell him to say hi to the martians for me)

meanwhile, cnn reported yesterday that FIVE more fence sitters came THE OBVIOUS way

donnelly, ellsworth, gutierrez, carney, costello

that makes NINE stupackers who DAMN and DOOM the DEEM

minus spacecraft kucinich, that's EIGHT

all we need is ONE, net, to kill obamacare

rcp took down the cnn piece and rcp's archives are totally unnavigable

but i found an even better source, THE HILL, which reflects the new whip count

WHIP COUNT: House Democrats' positions on the healthcare reform bill - TheHill.com

even more to the point is the TIMELINE

if the RECONCILE (which isn't even written yet) is not scored and put online by TODAY then the prez must cancel another trip

because the RULES for floor debate must be posted SEVENTY TWO HOURS before any vote can go down

and the prez is outta here at NOON on sunday, grumpily off to guam

FOR NINE DAYS

then, when he gets back, he's got LESS THAN A WEEK til the easter break

obama's "supporters," who definitely know how these things work (LOL!), need to get real

Just out of curiosity...

Who, exactly, do the Dems think they would be fooling with this stunt?

Don't you suppose that the same Dems who oppose TOHCB will be held just as liable for their 'deemed to pass' vote as they would an actual vote on the bill? Certainly they see their constituents will know about it, if for no other reason than their GOP opponents will bring it up in November.

you nailed it, you naughty wingnut

if she doesn't have 216 for the senate bill she'll have even fewer for her damned DEEM

the DEEM is dumb

which is why she's DOOMED

Wow...its pretty easy to see when an idealogue is getting his ass kicked in a debate...he turns to Rush Limbaugh.

YOU...the person that cant be bothered to READ what you support...and get spoon fed your garbage...accusing ANYONE of talking point rhetoric...priceless baby...absolutely priceless.

So to recap...

YOU have NO IDEA what is in the legislation...you have NO IDEA what it costs. You have NO IDEA how the federal government is supposed to run it better than the medicare system which they admit is being abused to the tune of at LEAST 80 billion a year...and yet...you support the legislation...

If I called you an idiot that would be perceived as a personal attack...and an insult to idiots to boot...so I absolutely WILL NOT call you an idiot. I dont have to. Your own words expose you every time you post here.

Keep lying, it doesn't surprise me.

Ok, thanks for letting me know about this Rush Limbaugh rule. It's hard to keep track when the righties keep moving those goal posts.

I could care less what you think after reading all of your posts. After everything you resort to personal attacks that I have no idea what's in the bill (even though this bill will only have minor changes and will consist 99% of all of the things that have been talked to death for the past year) and that I don't know what it will cost (even though I don't know how you got this. The CBO has scored the main bill already and is currently scoring the rest as we speak, and I haven't heard anyone say that the cost will differ significantly from the original assessment) and then you finalize it with the point that we should allow insurance companies to not cover based on preexisting conditions and to kick people off their roles as soon as they get sick, and to continue to use every loophole they can find to screw people over, all because there is a certain amount of fraud in medicare. You think that maybe neither of us are idiots and we just disagree on the bill?

Also, don't sidestep. I have no idea how you've convinced yourself that you're morally superior because you won't use personal attacks then attack me by saying that calling me an idiot is an insult to idiots. It doesn't surprise me that you would think this is not the same thing.

Just to recap, every single thing you said in your post was a lie or wrong.

So to recap - your post basically says, "I am rubber you are glue, whatever hits me bounces off and sticks to you". That makes for some mature discussion (/sarcasm)

the righties...

LOL!

like jason altmire, brad ellsworth, daniel lipinski, steve driehaus, kathy dahlkemper, john boccieri...

keep moving the goalposts...

pass the bills, conference em, merge em, take out the kickbacks, keep the kickbacks, reconcile em, we have the votes, SATURDAY, cancel the trip, change the schedule, re-cancel the trip, DEEM it...

LOL!

the bill is a PIG:

half a T cuts to m and m

while simultaneously expanding massively both already overstrained entitlements

huge taxes, fines, fees on small and large biz, middle and lower class, PAYROLL, targeted industries

mandates on individuals to go out and buy---what kinda perverse universalism is that

jct---only SEVEN PERCENT to receive subsidies

fines for those who don't conform, threats of jail

bankrupting burdens on broken backed states in the form of massive expansion of medicaid, ghetto of health care

a quarter T doc fix, NOT paid for

another quarter tril DOUBLE COUNTED, says the cbo

the cornhusker, the gatoraid, the dodd and kerry and baucus BRIBES, important parts of the upper's piece

yup, TALKING POINTS---from THE HILL, ROLL CALL, AP, the NYT, the WaPo...

LOL!

the apologists attempts are pathetic

He says that calling me an idiot would be an insult to idiots.

I respond to him by letting him know the contradiction of declaring that he won't use personal attacks, by using a personal attack.

You criticize me for acting childish.

Are you dizzy from all that spinning?

Righties? heck, son...YOU start spewing crap about talking points and rhetoric...and YOU are the one that cant answer the FIRST question about anything you stand in favor of. Now...really...

Lies? No lies. Everything I spoke is truth. Sad thing is...you KNOW it. Thats why your arguments went from at least an EARLIER attempt at SOME sort of substance, to your last limp series of posts.

And be very clear. I didnt CALL you an idiot. That would be wrong. no personal attacks.

Ok, thanks for letting me know about this Rush Limbaugh rule. It's hard to keep track when the righties keep moving those goal posts.

You support Pelosi's actions, and you want to talk about "righties keep moving the goalposts"?

LOL. Wow.

Game. Set. Match.

Beautiful. How very dishonest of you.

Would you consider it as an insult if I were to come in here and say to a member "I'm not saying you're mother's a whore, I'm just saying she sleeps with men for money."

I'm just leaving it at that. Have fun.

In addition to what Prof has indicated is in this bill, here is a bit more.....

• Federal funding for abortion;

• A half trillion dollars in cuts to Medicare services that do not fix the programs' long-term structural budgetary problems;

• A half trillion dollars in new taxes that will be passed on to the consumers of health insurance and everyday medical devices;

• The "Louisiana Purchase" and other special deals used to bribe senators to vote for the bill.

• 159 new government boards, bureaucracies, and programs that will further depress a health system already mired in bureaucracy.

I especialy like that last one... 159 new bureaucracies to get between you and your doctor. But wait, all may not be lost....... seems like 1/3 of doctors polled will quit or retire early if this POS passes, so you don't have to worry... you probably wouldn't be able to find a doctor anyway.

LOL. Wow.

Game. Set. Match.

Reconciliation has been used by Republican presidents to 'hide' the high expenses of their economic and military policies since 1981.

Now the practice gets to be evil at its worst. Can't change the goal post more than that.

I have. Completely!

And not if she actually WAS...just food for thought...

Take your lumps like a man. You earned them.

Careful...If you point out the facts about what are in the legislation (as we know it) then it might cause people that support it to actually have to think and that will hurt...kinda like a slurpee brain feeze...

I'm studying to become a doctor. If this passes, I might reconsider my career choice. Perhaps something in biotechnology...

My wife is an RN with 16 years and a 4 year degree.

She is right now studying for a degree in engineering, if that tells you what she thinks of this Bill.

Dont...just add administration and business management. You will more than make up for it.

Right now 2 of the county facilities that offer medicare/medicaid services locally pay their clinical staff next to nothing. The 2 primary business owners get paid high 6 figures. They never even go to the facility...in fact i am not sure that either of them live in the state. The primary administrators...NOT licensed clinicians get paid much more than the clinical staff.

Dont worry...there is substantial money to be made with medicare/medicaid contracts. Just not for the actual providers.

Mmmmmmmm, intriguing.

A spokesman for Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R) said this afternoon that Virginia will file suit against the federal government if the Democratic health care reform bill is approved by the U.S. Congress.

Cuccinelli has long said he was examining the legal issues and suggested he would likely file suit. Brian Gottstein, a spokesman for the office, said this afternoon that a lawsuit is now a definite. Gottstein would provide no details of the legal rationale for such a suit, indicating the process is "still being worked out."

Virginia last week became the first state in the country to pass a state bill declaring it illegal for the government to require individuals to purchase health insurance, a key part of bills under consideration on Capitol Hill. snip:

UPDATE: We've received a copy of Cuccinelli's letter to Pelosi. In it, he writes: "Should you employ the deem and pass tactic, you expose any act which may pass to yet another constitutional challenge."

The full letter is included after the jump.

Virginia Politics Blog - Cuccinelli's office confirms Virginia will sue over health care

Sounds like no ,mater what happens, if this passes in any way, Virginia will tie it up in court for years.

What a guy!!!!!..:applaud
