All this time spent on healthcare with nothing to show for it. Meahwhile, unemployment spiralled out of control while Obama obsessed over his pet project.

The only way Pelosi and Obama can save any face is to put it in reconciliation, then blame the Republicans for obstructing the bill. But I don't think the Democrats TRUST Obama and Pelosi to actually do what they said they'd do and reconcile after the fact.
It needs to again be made clear that the only reason the bill hasn't been passed in the house is that DEMS wont vote for it because their constituants do not want it; all of the ideas floated to pass the bill through 'creative means' illustrates the Dem leadership's desire to pass a bill by any and every means possible, the opinion of the Americna people notwitstanding.

After all, the ends justify the means.

At this point I really dont care anymore, I want something to happen, I want to know that I can go to the hospital without worrying about "Are they going to kick me out because I have no health insurance?" or that I'm going to get a med student for a doctor because I cant pay. Walk into a hospital with no insurance, it's a REAL eye opening experience let me tell you.

    Warrantless wiretapping, PATRIOT, for starters.
MOST of us are fine with an intelligent fix to healthcare. For starters...fix medicare/Medicaid. Medicaid EXISTS to help those that cant help themselves. Obama says its abused to the tune of 80 BILLION annually. If they cant fix that then what on EARTH makes you or anyone think they can run a federal health care plan?

Do you HONESTLY trust the federal government to run health care? Do you trust them to NOT put a bunch of NON healthcare related pork in the legislation?

And BTW...even though you may not LIKE the patriot act, it was passed...by BOTH parties...and the dem controlled house, senate, and president just extended it. Who is the partisan here?

They've already put a student-aid bill in this healthcare bill and extended the Nebraska kickback to all 50 states. With all the backroom arm-twisting going on right now, I shudder to think what else is being added.

I've never seen such a den of thieves as this leadership. It's like giving the reins to Al Capone and his cronies.

Illinois politics at its best. We saw how Rahm and Blago play the game. And isnt it funny that an adminstration that was so against lobbyists has BECOME the primary lobby.

    That is a GREAT point.

Obama and Pelosi are conducting the most massive lobbyist effort in Washington history as we speak.

    LOL

Looks like Nancy just can't get the votes.

Now, these Dems have got to go back home and face the protests and the town halls again. LOL

    Another nail in the coffin.

This is the exact point that needs to be made.

Dems have a majority in the House and Senate.

Up until a month or so ago, they had a fillibuster-proof majority in the Senate. With the likes of Lindsey Graham around, they could still break a fillibuster if they had a halfway decent bill.

They can't pass this bill because there are Democrat legislators who won't vote for it.

Making it a partisan football and blaming the Republicans won't fly, sorry. Why aren't you blaming all the Dems who won't vote for it?

outstanding analyses above, in my opinion

we are really kicking obamite ass

    1. think about it, if the house membership cannot pass the senate bill, how is leadership gonna entice them to vote for THIS?

    2. pelosi is gonna ask them all to assent to this rotten reconciliation with its DEEM in the middle while TRUSTING the senate to push THAT thru with 51

    3. which, there's NO GUARANTEE harry can ACCOMPLISH this, even if he DOES try

    4. the parliamentary problematics of nuke options are prodigious, as we all perceive

    5. more to the point, nancy's members know

    6. distrust between house and senate is long standing tradition, ie, PERMANENT

    7. no way these 50 or so professionals can put themselves out on nancy's limb, praying that harry hurries with the ladder

    8. aint gonna happen

    9. the DEEM is far less likely to win votes than the SENATE BILL in the first place, that's the point

    10. which is why clyburn THE WHIP said this morning what he said

    11. WHIPS exist to COUNT heads and twist arms

    12. clyburn is the COUNTER

    13. and this morning he announces---NOT TIL EASTER

Clyburn says health vote could push past Easter holiday - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

    14. that is, not til AFTER easter

    15. it's done, dead, deceased, dogmeat

    16. and, yes, so astute are my allies and colleagues: ALL THE POLITICAL PAIN from all this---for even TRYING to get thru by DEEM (LOL!) something so DUMB---with no PAYBACK

    17. nothing to GAIN for all the PAIN

    18. which is why i say, day after day, since at least LAST MARCH---the most incompetent political leadership america has ever suffered

    party on, progressives

but, somehow, i feel you don't want to anymore

even you've been asked to go TOO FAR

    condolences

obama's such a fool, he delayed his go-to-guam for this

The latest and greatest...Obama has now threatened EVERY democrat that doesnt support his health care plan that he will NOT campaign for them.

    First bribery...now threats and coersion.

Thank you Mr Obama for your moral leadership...
