Ties between Israel and US 'worst in 35 years'

Maybe they are not related to you but they sure as hell are to me........Since Hussein Obama has been president our relationship with Israwl has gone to hell in a handbasket........You love Obama so you would never question anything about this at worse Socialist and at worse Jew hater........

This guy is destroying the USA....

As far as Medved goes, if you even know who he is, he is a hell of a lot more credible then Hussein Obama..........

What world do you live in?

Hey I thought I was pretty civil to the guy............

You were civil, and I apologise for my attack.

But I gotta say man. The cold war is over... has been for awhile. There no communists trying to take over your government. Obama is not a Jew Hater. Thats pretty raw stuff.

But I dont blindly follow Obama. But you have to look at things objectively. In the greater scheme of things, is it really conceviable that Obama is a Terrorist, Socialist dictator?

Come on, seems a little far fetched dont yah think.

Apology accepted........so you don't believe any of these things people are saying he is doing...........

You know they said the same thing about Hitler in 1930 except Obama is as far left as Hitler was far right.........I only hope one thing that you people on the the left wake up before its to late........Israel use to be our number one allie in the middle east before Obama came around.....

Think about it...........

My point is... why split the land? Why not share it? How could you possibly split land that is considered holy to each side?
Because neither party is capable of sharing.
Actually Israel IS sharing and is 20% Arab.
While Jews (and in large degree Christians) have been Cleansed from the Arab world.
Palestinians are demanding a Pre-cleansed-of-Jews new state.

[Only] Since 1967 when Jews won Jeruslam and it's Holy Sites in 1967 is EVERYONE allowed access to them... as opposed to when Jordan controlled it previous.

Jordan who had Annexed the West Bank as Arabs were never really with this 'Palestine' thing.

Arabs got all but 1% of the Ottoman breakup and rule perhaps 110% of their original 'range', including over groups like the Kurds.
They'll just have to make do with 99% of the land and 100% of the resources.
"Share"?
Frankly, I think they should demand 10% more of each... maybe claim Spain.. again.

Its not a personal attack if its the truth....isn't that what you always say Navy?

Israel is an ally to the U.S. the way a cleaning lady is your friend. She takes care of the **** you're too lazy to do and at the end of the day she could honestly care less about having an actual relationship with you. Only thing is that she acts like she cares because you pay her. And we keep Israel from falling into an all out war with the rest of the Middle East. Trust me. For Israel it is a relationship of interest. For the U.S. it is a relationship fostered by Protestant Christianity. I wouldn't be surprised if most people in Israel could honestly care less about our support.

Wow now that is quite a statement. Most people would probably place someone like Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot as the leftist version of Hitler. But I guess with all of Obama's gun control, no term limits, ban on private property, conscription, censored press, single party system, party military, establishment of national language, removal of ethnic minorities, etc etc etc how can one not see the similarities.

As for this fuss over Israel, relations are not poor or permanently damaged. This isn't the first time the US and Israel have had disagreements and it won't be the last. Bush and Clinton had disagreements with Israel over how talks with the Palestinians should go, and so does Obama, its nothing new and its not something thats going to change our relation with Israel.
Clinton had his Oslo Accords which didn't change anything.
Bush had his Road Map to peace which didn't really change much.
Obama has his own ideas which so far seem to be just as productive.

Also fun fact: Clinton, Bush and Obama all were/are against the expansion of Israeli settlements and Obama has in fact continued Bush's policy as defined in the "Road Map to Peace." Thats why all this hub-ub about settlements is coming from Obama, Israel is violating agreements of a BUSH policy. So if you are going to bash Obama for "destroying" US-Israeli relations you have to had just as much credit to Bush as well

Not much different that Jerusalem!

Ummm...OK...I'll bite...2008 stats had 31.8 per 100k in DC while all of Israel had 3.3 per 100k...and Jerusalum was lower...soooooo....

There is not much chance of there EVER being peace between the Israeli Jewish community and arab Palestinians. Its simply not going to happen. Not without one side or the other eliminated.

I'm hopeful, not for any solid reason, but I prefer being hopeful. At the very least one can look at the history of relations between Egypt and Israel and Jordan and Israel for a positive story. I know its a completely different situation but many people though Israel and Egypt would never get along, after all Israel has killed far more Egyptians than any other state its been at war with.

Obama is between a rock and a hard place, he effectively promised the World he would deliver a solution to the Mid East Problem of Israel / Palestine.

He has thus far failed to deliver anything meaningful.

For example: He promised his own wife he would give up smoking, he reneged even on that.

IMO I believe he underestimates the resolve of Israel and those in the USA who fund and back Israel.
Israel cannot afford to surrender too much to a foe that has no intention of permanently agreeing to anything it signs, supposedly in good faith.
Note what Hamas said with regards to agreements signed before they (Hamas) came to power.

Palestinians cannot be trusted.

IMO neither can Muslims be they American, Indonesian, Kenyan Muslims.

This is the statement of a sick mind. There is a large arab population living in Israel proper.

The two things are not related. Further, Medved is hardly a reliable source.

Or maybe Medved was quoting a recent poll:

The percentage of Jewish Israelis who see the Obama Administration as being pro-Israel has declined from 31% to 6% since May 17 according to a JPost/Smith poll published in Friday's editions.
Obama's approval rating in Israel goes from 31% to 6% in one month - Obama Administration News

Obama seems to delight in coddling nations that wish us harm, while insulting those that are our traditional allies like Israel and Great Britain.

This is a case of Obama sticking his nose into the internal affairs where it does not belong.

This is not about the West Bank.

This is not about a new settlement.

It's about an Apartment complex in Jerusalem clearly Israel.

Obama is pro Palestinian and anti-Israeli.

A sick mind? Well...if I decide to make my response personal...some sort of attack against you...maybe involving the only way you would really know if I had a sick mind was by talking to your mom...I'll take it offline...private message...something like that. Instead...I'll stay on topic...

Look...the REALITY is that neither side is invested in peace and both have a pretty legitimate claim. Israel was re-gifted land...which meant the palestinians were ultimately forced out. Israel REALLY isnt invested in giving land back, including the Gaza Strip or the Golan Heights. While many WANT peace, the reality is that to MANY...and especially those that would use force to get their way...peace means the other side is at least gone, but preferably dead.

There are other factions invested in the instability. Arab leaders (who quite frankly dont give a squirt about Paelstine or Palestinians) are invested in being able to point to Israel as a common enemy to rally support. They fund the terrorist attacks against Israel.

Now...call me sick...but I think history has done a pretty good job of demonstrating that since the recorded time (you know...when the land was occupied by the rightful owners...the Canaanites) there has been conflict. And while Israel and Egypt and Israel and Jordan have been able to maintain peace, remember...Egypt and Jordan HAVE countries. They have borders.

Its also not a bad idea to recognize that while everyone was critical of Israel constructing a wall to reduce the terror attacks, Egypt ALSO has a wall, keeping Palestine out. Might have something to do with the late 60's...who knows...

Bottom line...there will NEVER be peace there. Neither side wants it on terms the other side is willing to agree to. Both sides feel justified. So...good luck with that...
