You mean like Disloyal... Dingenuous... Disrespects this country... Discombobulated without his teleprompter, wants to reDistribute our money to those that didn't earn it?

Yeah, I hate all of those D's. :2wave:

:2rofll: Very good. that was funny. :2rofll:

Since you brought it up. What is this dumb thing rightees have about Obama and the teleprompter? All politicians giving long speeches use them. I mean seriously. You just sound dumb arguing this point. Need I bring up youtube vids of your guys with their teleprompters? How about a rightee making fun of Obama using a teleprompter while he himself is using one? Or how about one of the dumbest on the right using notes she wrote on her hand? Now THAT is something to make fun of.

I mean WTF?

Have you ever heard him when he is winging it? He say "uhhhhh"... "ummmmmmm".... "errrrrr" more than he says other words combined. He can't put one coherent statement together to save his life, he loses track of what the question was or the point he was trying to make.

That's what the deal is about teleprompters for the "greatest orator of our times".

BTW. Did you listen to Sara’s speech when she had 3 or 4 notes on her hand?…. Truly inspired….. Can’t say that about Dumbo.

And does it matter to you what SCOTUS says about people we capture?

It does, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with them. My position is consistent with domestic and international law.

The US Constitution does not address the rights of foreign combatants, but it does incorporate international treaties (Article VI), which means the Geneva Conventions are given the force of law. Since KSM actively defied the Geneva Conventions, he is not entitled to their protection or consideration.

International law, in this instance, acts like an addendum to the Constitution. It defines terms and outlines government protocol in matters outside the scope of its original operation.

I don't address sideways questions that someone asks because they know their argument is a loser. What are you gonna do next, ask me what I would do if a captured terrorist might have knowledge about a nuclear bomb? :doh

Sure. What would you do? It's just a question.

Another distraction.

For the far left, the Constitution usually is...

The Geneva Conventions cover people even if they don't follow it themselves. :doh

Sure it does, if you are a signatory.... (hint, we are a signatory)

Why are all you people so afraid of trying this guy, or anyone, in a civilian court?

Why are you so obsessed with trying him in a civilian court?

I mean, seriously. We've done it before, in fact we've done it for 99% of terrorists.

Proof of this?

So, now if Obama turns tail and changes his mind what will you rightees then have to complain about?

You're the one who is complaining. Everyone except you has accepted the fact that a civilian trial for KSM is a dumb idea.

Why are you so obsessed with trying him in a civilian court?

Proof of this?

You're the one who is complaining. Everyone except you has accepted the fact that a civilian trial for KSM is a dumb idea.

No, I don't think a civilian trial is a dumb idea. Hell, I don't even consider military tribunals to be constitutional.

How is a military tribunal unconstitutional?

It's not Diane Feinsteins' fault she had to write notes on her hand and had to break the 1990 California debate rules for Governor. Stop making fun of her.

Impartial jury requirement.

You erroneously presuppose that foreign enemies are entitled to Constitutional due process.

The Fifth Amendment:

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The underlined clause makes clear that Fifth Amendment need not apply to capital crimes committed by foreign enemies.

Furthermore, the requirement of an impartial jury is only applicable to criminal prosecutions.

The Sixth Amendment:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bill of Rights makes specific exceptions to the treatment of foreign enemies, the execution thereof determined by international law to which the US is a signatory, namely, the Geneva Conventions.

This constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, any thing in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.

I get it so Palin writes 4 words on her hand while crossing one out during a softball Q&A session so you bring up a democrat that most people don't like. This is a fun game.

Why are you so obsessed with trying him in a civilian court?

You're the one who is complaining. Everyone except you has accepted the fact that a civilian trial for KSM is a dumb idea.

Everyone? 99.999% of the people in this country have accepted this except Deuce?

Except during the health care debate and the Q & A with Republicans?

Yeah truly inspired speech palin gives... Completely random and crazy. Did you see her resignation speech?

Reagan used teleprompters and couldn't do well without. Bush Jr couldn't do well even with them.

Hell, I don't even consider military tribunals to be constitutional.

LOL!

let's see, we got the POTUS and the AG coming out TODAY in favor of tribunals

but one of our FORUMS MEMBERS (LOL!) deems them unconstitutional

as if anyone could possibly care what little old anyone-of-us might think

hey, who cares about NATIONAL HEADLINES

what does THE MEMBER think?

LOL!

Why are you so obsessed with trying him in a civilian court?

It's not that I'm obsessed for it. I don't understand why you rightees are so against it when that's what has been used for ALL terrorist convictions except for THREE (3). You guys say these terrorists are not soldiers yet, you want them to be treated as soldiers in a military tribunal. They don't deserve the honor of being tried as a soldier.

Proof of this?

Are you serious?!?!? Why am I debating this with you if you don't know who has been tried and convicted where? Anywhere between 90 and 300 terrorists, depending how you count them, have been convicted in civilian courts. Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, was arrested and was ready to be tried in a civilian court in Boston. Until he confessed, you didn't hear these whiney cries from the people of Boston over his upcoming civilian trial, did we?

You're the one who is complaining. Everyone except you has accepted the fact that a civilian trial for KSM is a dumb idea.

You wish. Most people want the civilian trials. It's just that you rightees cry so loud over KSM being tried in New York that you've scared everyone. What in the world are you afraid of? All you are doing is acting like a bunch of lemmings following your idiotic Repuke leaders wherever they direct you to go. You don't even know why you're arguing what you're arguing.

Try the SOB right here and show the world we are not afraid to try ANYONE who attacks us. By switching to the untried and very new military tribunal we will be rolling the dice as to how this will effect us.

Well, everyone with a brain, at least...

Ah so now you're personally insulting the Bush administration who prosecuted multiple terrorism cases in civilian courts while only prosecuting 3 cases in military tribunals. Two of the cases the guys are already free.

You're also insulting retired Army Major General William Nash
"Any time you do something hard, there’s a time where maybe you have second thoughts. That’s the time any good leader has got to remind himself about the story about ‘steady boy steady.’... The machinations of those who are afraid of these terrorists, who are afraid of American laws, who are afraid of this process that lived by under the rule of law for many many years — centuries — this is not the time to allow them to have their fear drive us away from doing the right thing... This is not the time to be scared. This is not the time to accomodate those who have led the country through an aura of fear for eight years. it’s time to do the right thing and persevere through."

You're insulting Retired Army Lt General Harry Soyster former Director of the DIA
"My concern is what it looks like to our enemy. And they certainly should be delighted in what appears to be great confusion, great ambiguity and inability to address the issue, so they should feel they are making progress if in fact our initial stand is reversed. from my perspective, the president [initially] chose chose the harder right over the easier wrong when he made the stand, supported his attorney general...and he should hold firm to that"

Also Retired Navy Rear Admiral John Hudson The Navy's Judge Advocate General from 1997 to 2000

“If you were from Mars and you came to earth and were told there were two options for prosecuting these guys. And one of them was federal courts, where we’ve done 200 of these [terrorism] cases over the last nine years, 90-percent-plus conviction rate, people successfully imprisoned, experienced judges, experienced prosecutors and all of that. Or you could go to a military commission which the Supreme Court has already struck down once, they’ve got three cases [with] two guilty pleas — both of those guys are out of jail — no experienced judges, no experienced prosecutors and a tenuous judicial system at best which is untried up to now in any real sense — which one you choose is pretty clear. Then you put on top of that the Constitution very clearly provides the president in his capacity as commander-in-chief is responsible for the prosecution of the war — and I would argue all of this is part of that responsibility, in how we go forward with the war — and the Department of Justice is responsible for the prosecution of federal prisoners, it’s clearly in the authority and the responsibility of the executive branch to do this.”

Also you're calling this guy someone without a brain

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hl2c9p6YpM"]YouTube- Powell Supports Civilian Trials, Closing Gitmo[/ame]

[sarcasm]Yeah you're so much smarter than these guys[/sarcasm]

No its more than dislike its hate so much so that you think he isnt eligible to be preisdent. It has everything to do with the D

I would use the word qualified or experienced enough.

That has already proven true so far based on his many mistakes. I wonder how many more we can afford.

Now Obama is backing down on the trials issue..Is this guy ever going to get something right?

I wouldn't exactly call myself obsessed with this issue. The guy's gonna be executed either way.

The Bush "Legacy"???

Educate me as a lot of words come to mind talking about Bush

Legacy ain't one of them ...

My God ... the Right and their "Bush protected this country" is laughable considering Clinton protected this country for a longer period of time after the 93 WTC attack than Bush did after 9-11
