Pentagon On Lockdown: Metro Shooting Prompts Pentagon Lockdown

WASHINGTON – A gunman opened fire at the subway entrance to Pentagon complex Thursday evening, wounding two Pentagon police officers, a spokesman said.

The alleged gunman also was wounded, said Chris Layman, a spokesman for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. Authorities said all three were taken to a hospital. None the injuries were thought to be life-threatening, Layman said.

Layman said the suspect walked up to the subway entrance at 6:40 p.m. and opened fire. He hit two officers. The officers fired back, and the suspect was hit. His injures are more serious.

Countdown to attributing this directly to President Obama....

What about guns? Do we suspect that guns were involved?

Another example that homegrown nutjobs are more dangerous to this country than the terrorist boogeyman we are spending billions on to thwart.

Personally, I'm more afraid of kids. Children. With their shifty eyes and their disproportional bodies. No real moral compass either, never know what they'll do. Go from sweetest things in the world to screaming demons at the snap of a finger.

    Frightening.

Are you serious? This guy only managed to wound two police officers. Al Qaeda, on the other hand, brought down the World Trade Center, blew up four airliners, blew up a section of the Pentagon, and killed nearly 3,000 civilians.

How could you make such an inane statement?

Because if you lump every single bad thing done in the country together, then that's worse than AQ! That means that we're obviously wasting our money that we spend on domestic security, despite the fact that the bulk of that money goes toward things that protect against all threats, be they homegrown or foreign. That means that terrorism isn't a big deal. Or something.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Some people on the left are more concerned with the Tea-Partiers than AQ. Maybe if AQ protests Obamacare they'll pay them some attention...

Because terrorism isn't really that big of a threat, so I can understand making light of it.

We had over 37k traffic fatalities in 2008 (couldn't find states for 2009). Terrorism is less than 1/10th that over almost a decade. Our response is not proportional to the threat.

Their acts might be big and showy, but if you look at the numbers, they accomplish very little and aren't worth worrying about and they certainly aren't worth going into debt as a nation for (as we have). People should be more brave, seriously, its pathetic.
