A baby girl survived three days with a bullet in her chest as she lay alone beside the dead bodies of her parents and toddler brother in Argentina, the Daily Mail reported.

Francisco Lotero, 56, and Miriam Coletti, 23, shot their 7-month-old daughter and son, 2, before killing themselves. The pair allegedly agreed to a suicide pact over fears about global warming, according to the Daily Mail.

The couple's son, Francisco, died instantly after being shot in the back, the paper reported.

The baby girl, whose name has not been released, escaped the apparent murder attempt after a bullet from her dad's handgun missed her vital organs, according to The Daily Mail.

Worried neighbors alerted police three days later, after discovering the massacre. Paramedics then rushed the blood-soaked baby to a hospital.

The miraculous survivor is now recovering in a hospital in the town of Goya in northern Argentina and is out of danger, according to the paper.

Police discovered an apparent suicide note by the girl's parents in which they outlined their fears over global warming.

Knowing something about gunshot wounds, it is amazing that this baby girl survived. The chest area is basically covered in vital organs... incredible that she didn't get something vital punctured. Miraculous even.

It goes without saying that the parents are nuts... but I think this is an example of how overblown alarmism harms real people.

Oh yeah, god--who recently let countless thousands of Haitian children die in horror--smiled down on this single child and kept it alive to grow up as an orfan. What a benevolent being this god surely is! :roll:

It is sad that anyone thinks of God as more than a spirit we carry within us.

There were no doubt tens of thousands of miracles that allowed people to escape the devastation in both Haiti and Chile.

The spirit might do some people some good and prevent them from ridiculing what they have no personal knowledge of.

No it was Mother Earth that looked up and frowned and swallowed up all those Haitian children. Go tell that to the evil earthers.

But seriously, what a tragic and horrible story. Even with her surviving she's got to grow up without her family and understanding the circumstances of why they're gone. If only there was a way to make sure people like that could never have children.
 
I wonder if the left will blame Al Gore for these people's deaths the same way they've blamed talk radio show hosts in the past ??

This story is so sad. Clearly the parents were mentally ill, and this story should not be co-opted by the right or the left for political "points." To do so would be SICKENING. And I'm sure that everyone here is above that sort of thing.

Seriously though...yeah her parents were nutcases. If there were no AGW hysteria, would they have fixated on some other idiocy and committed this tragic atrocity anyway? Maybe, maybe not... I don't know.


AND BY THE WAY, just where exactly did this thread turn into another Let's Bash God thread just because someone dared say "thank God she survived"?? Talk about low-class behavior...

I think they would. I kind of view this like when people shoot up a place. They didn't shoot it up because they had a gun, a gun was the vehicle in which they did their crazy act. Take away the gun and they'd likely just do it another way.

Or more to a point, when someone that plays video games or listens to music outside of the norm or play RPG's or something of the sort and kills themselves and you have people going "OMG they killed themselves cause they were so depressed by [item in question] or twisted by [item in question]" when in reality if you take away said item then something else likely would've filled the void.

Ditto with religious extremism. Take away Christianity during the time of the Crusades and the people in power would've just found something else to use to push their agenda and exert their control.

Typically with these things the stuff that gets the most exposure are the things that are mostly plug and play and only skin deep.

I heard yesterday that Tipper had led a charge against heavy metal musicians suing for liability in suicide cases... I was unaware.. BUT..

Since Fat Al is, by their own logic, liable, he should apologize for causing this particular murder suicide....
