While some will see this as ominous and a new threat to peace I see it as good news and a possible deterrent for future conflicts other than with Iran.

As far as irans is concerned they should be very concerned. With enough of these drones Israel could lay waste to the military of Iran and never put a single pilot at risk leaving them at home to defend the home State.

Ine thing you will find if you read the Ap story I put up a link to is this;
(AP): The planes can fly at least 20 consecutive hours and are primarily used for surveillance and carrying diverse payloads.
This tells me they could deliver anything they want remotely now.

Israeli drone 'can reach Iran'
The Israeli Air Force has introduced a fleet of pilotless aircraft that can stay in the air for nearly a day and fly as far as the Gulf.

The Eitan drones, which have a wingspan of 86ft (26m), are the size of Boeing 737 passenger jets.

They can reach an altitude of more than 40,000ft (12,000m) and fly for more than 20 consecutive hours.

AP quoted defence officials as saying the planes could provide surveillance and jam enemy communications.

Israel, along with the US and other Western nations, believes Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons and has repeatedly suggested it could attack the country if diplomatic attempts to curb the programme fail.

At the fleet's inauguration ceremony at an airbase in central Israel, IAF commander Maj Gen Ido Nehushtan said the new drone "has the potential to be able to conduct new missions down the line as they become relevant".

Israeli officials refused to say how large the new fleet was.

It doesn't take 20 hours to fly from Israel to Iran. Flying from the East Coast to Israel takes anywhere from 13 to 17 hours. Not sure how this plane would be more capable than their other unmanned with the added flight time.

What I am more curious about is the size of the plane. What exactly are they delivering that they need something the size of a 737? It doesn't matter at the end but I'm curious as to whether they are looking to make this somehow an essential part of their war stash. I'd see this as having more scientific applications than military ones.

Beautiful. Even looks like the greatest plane ever made.

The drone is propeller powered and thus goes slower than a jet airliner.
