Dalai Lama in US for talks as China fumes

    link

WASHINGTON (AFP) Tibet's exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Wednesday opened a visit to the United States to meet President Barack Obama, infuriating China as it tries to sideline the revered monk.
Beijing has opposed any meeting with the Dalai Lama, demanding that the United States reverse its "wrong decision" to "avoid any more damage to Sino-US relations."
The childish dictators in Beijing are heard again. Don't they understand that the rest of us in the free world really 1. don't care what they think and 2. are turning more and more against them as their behavior and arrogance continues to grow.

The thing is, it will get tougher and tougher for us the more dependent we become on China. We're so dependent on their goods, they could cripple our economy if they boycotted us.

That's right! We'd be so lost without our dollar store trinkets.

On a serious note, it's true. It's hard to find anything that is not made in China.

I know. I used to try to buy non-Chinese all the time, but you just can't do it. EVERYTHING is made there. Our economy's already vulnerable. If China cut off our imports, there would be immediate shortages. As we got goods from elsewhere, we would have hyperinflation. It would be ugly. China could invade Taiwan, execute the Dalai Lama, and have another Tiananmen Square massacre and there would be nothing we could do about it. We couldn't boycott them without destroying our own economy. We couldn't invade militarily. About all we could do is complain, but keep buying from them.

Then again, the US is their goldmine. They would certainly hate to lose that, especially now that they have a taste of a better way of life.

Actually, with the exception of some footwear, I am able to get nearly everything I need made in countries other than China.

America cant continue to experience the economic fear brought about ; because we have given up our manufacturing base to low wage countries like China. We will have to strike a balance betwwen our sense of fair balanced
trade and protectionism. We gotta make a choice. Us or them!
Meeting the Dalai lama exactly what the Leader of the free world should do.

We may be close to the end of the , "Capitalistic Romanticism" period in american foreign policy. Its ; Becoming clear, The work goes so does the profits and the jobs follow. Adam Smith said,"The Capital would be used to further ventures of what it was employed in".
Chinnese factories is what it was used in. Now it builds Chinas roads feeds their army pays their taxes and keeps our political and economic system feed with," cheap goods and political donations". The huge profits they get from our former industrys. They now use against us and our government helps them.

    1. So, unlike October, Obama does NOT dis the Dalai this time.

    2. How brave for him to link up with the Lama.

    3. Except he can't allow himself to BE SEEN IN PUBLIC with the holy man from the Himalayas.
