Las Vegas Mayor Goodman rejects Obama invitation

Actually I think President Obama has grown up, Gibbs on the other hand just needs to go.

Obama fails to say "I'm sorry" to Nevada for bashing Vegas a second time

It's in the 4th paragraph had you been watching Fox News and the Obamedia told the truth you would known this.

From March 2009;

First off, those of us who watch tv for news wouldn't ever look to Fox for anything but, entertainment.

Second, in post #5 you said:
Obama's Vegas-bashing comments last year, cost the state more than $500 million in lost tourism and gambling revenue, and thousands of jobs.

The paragraph you were referring to said
Gov. Gibbons said. "One hundred million dollar loss to the economy of Las Vegas."
Not $500 million. $100 million. Was that misquote... an accident? Orrrrr... something else? It's interesting he provides no proof of his outrageous accusation.

After looking at Gov. Gibbons voting record, how he cheated on his wife for years, the investigations into his misuse of funds and how he admitted that he urged federal authorities to pursue criminal action against a software developer whose business dispute with a friend of Gibbons had prompted a federal investigation, I am not surprised that he acted in such a rude, partisan, neo-con conservative type manner. In fact, it seems that instead of demanding an apology from the President, that he owes the people of Nevada an apology.

Just another unprofessional, immoral Republican showing his true colors.

The office need to be respected but the liar in it.

Huh?

Because we're smart enough to understand that what Obama is trying to do will cripple this country beyond repair.

So...President Obama is now a James Bond villain with a master plan???

I swear, Beck is dumbing down the far-right fringe in ways we couldn't have imagined...

Here's the quote:

"You don't blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you're trying to save for college."

Exactly why does this ****kicker mayor have a problem with his statement? Or any other partisan hack-tard for that matter?

I'm not sure when the good time is to "Blow" money/savings in vegas. Most adults know what President Obama meant. But far-right hacks aren't above moronic spins; any opportunity to turn a reasonable statement into a negative, they jump on it.

You can visit Vegas, but don't be an idiot about it. Don't gamble with money that you can't afford to lose. Would this mayor have people bringing their kid's college money to the tables?

File this story under: "Shut Your Piehole Mr. Mayor"

Here is Obama's quote from that article:

"We’re going to do something to strengthen the banking system," Mr. Obama said in a townhall event in Elkhart, Ind. "You are not going to be able to give out these big bonuses until you pay taxpayers back. You can't get corporate jets. You can't go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers' dime. There's got to be some accountability and some responsibility."

So you disagree? Taxpayers should foot the bill for their conventions?

Gina:

In fairness to the CEO's--they work hard lobbying for bailouts. At the end of the day, they're entitled to all the limos, hookers, and shrimp cocktails they can purchase with tax-payer money.

Shame on President Obama for suggesting that tax-payer money not be used for gambling. I mean, that's why they needed the bailouts in the first place, they were gambling with other people's money.;);)

Way to go Oscar. Well it's nice to see someone say no to Obama. So much for his magic. We can only hope it spreads as people are waking up to his shenanigans and lies.

Obama was right, blowing money in Las Vegas is a stupid and intemperate thing to do. Las Vegas was founded and built on excess and debauchery, and has ruined the finances and morals of many people.

Exactly how would it help his constituents to talk to Obama?Probably not at all. But courtesy is important...as is respect...The sickness "whats in it for me" is not good.

Oscar Goodman is a man of integrity and not star struck by the President.

I applaud him for taking care of the citys business instead of dropping everything for Obama.

This boy is acting like a spoiled disrespectful child..
All most mayors do is politick and sign what their secretary tells them to..
