Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down synd

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

family guy mocks everything and everyone, no discrimination there.

I don't believe I said a word about discrimination. I'm sick of the victim mentality in general, on both sides of the political and social spectrum. Sarah is whining.

Family Guy has mocked PBO?

I can't wait to see the hand ringing when that happens, if it ever does, that is...:rofl

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

Didn't hear her say she is a victim. Wanna keep trying, or just admit that she never said anything of the sort?

Actually, what I got from that quote is: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but I'm gonna stick your own words right back in your dumbass face, mother****er"...:rofl

Wait, so you won't accept the comment till I find a quote where she says the exact words "I am the victim"?

Well then I won't accept that Obama played the race card unless he exactly said:

I asked for evidence that that ever happened. You said there was plenty. You haven't produced it, so...

FAIL

I produced it, you denied it because you said she didn't say "I'm the Victim" in those exact words, so I responded.

She cried "I'm the victim of the media". Not in those exact words, but close enough.

Also how do you like my expert photoshop skills? :D

Dude...seriously. You cannot have a rational discussion about abortion, religion, or Sarah Palin with that lot.

Just walk away. It's easier than getting their mouth foam all over you when they go rabid with irrationality.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

When has Palin, "screamed 'I'm a victim'"?

Not those exact words. I thought you would understand implication.

She's complained about how sexist everyone was in criticizing her. You couldn't critique her policy or lack of experience without it being called sexism. You and other claim Obama complained about racism - and admittedly his supporters did.

Palin on the other hand griped about Hillary saying that she gets treated differently for being a woman; and then publicly complained about being treated differently for being a woman.

She insists Democrats be fired for using "retarded" as an insult; but let's Republicans slide - indeed, backtracks to say it's okay for them to use the term - as long as it's about Democrats.

She quits because she's tired of being criticized and she's tired of it.

Nothing - not a single thing that went wrong since she became a celebrity - has been her fault. It's the sexist media and the Democrats fault. All of it.

Victim. Victim. Victim.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

Well, it's the show's references that are remembered, but not their supposed main plot.

Anyways, I always came to the conclusion that Seth MacFarlane was a piece of crap anyway. Most of the time, the shock humor is just MacFarlane trying to appear controversial without enough of that self-humor to trash his own material taking itself too seriously.

The reference will come and go, and the controversy probably will not last long, if it even really hits the radar for most people.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

The only "victim" who gladly plays it herself is Palin. Yes, Obama supporters may have played the race card. Obama himself generally attempted to avoid it.

Palin, on the other hand, called every criticism "sexist". Let's not forget when Obama used the common phrase regarding lipstick on a pig, she immediately assumed that he was calling her a pig, because she had made a joke about lipstick. Even though, she was never referenced in his speech. Sexist!

Katie Couric asking her about magazines? Sexist! They're out to get her, that liberal media! (Never mind that that was probably the softest lob in the universe.)

She screams "I'm a victim!" with EVERY criticism.

Look at her barely-in-the-English language resignation speech. It was about what a victim she was. To put it more succinctly that she could (leaving out stories of moose and bad basketball metaphors): "I'm leaving because people said mean things about me."

You know who she most reminds me of? NY Governor Paterson. They both have to make HUGE public statements any time someone says something about them. This only gives credence to the critic. She doesn't know when to pick a battle. She tries to fight all of them.

You can think so all you like. If you want Obama back in office, then nominate Palin. She has too much baggage. Yes, she has rabid supporters. That's undeniable. But her negatives STILL are higher than Hillary Clinton's were before she ran.

I think there was truth to her complaints (well, the media and liberals went above and beyond the call of duty to trash her and her reputation), but she ended up being completely in tune with the lack of dignity of political discourse.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

I have never watched an episode of The Family Guy. Am curious how many here honestly say they watched this episode of The Family Guy before Palin brought attention to it. Am guessing zero.

No doubt the joke was about the Palin clan. I think she should have called him up directly on the phone. Talked to him directly and ask why he chose the low road. Or better yet have her and Trig visit him in person. That would have been most powerful.
But instead she decided to get some mileage out of this as some other poster said she gather so many voters. She gave herself some PR and the show some PR.

Never forget she is a politician like the rest. Oh, they all try to say they are different.

What office does she hold?

What office does she hold?

Just because a politician loses an election doesn't change his spots.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

Look...I dont know what the big deal is. Yes...the Family Guy is a cartoon show and yes...they tell tasteless jokes. I'm sure there have been MANY jokes told about Obamas backseat dalliances with his drug dealer in Chicago, and Michelle Oboma's ENORMOUS Ass (and really the absolute comedy of HER being the Obesity Czar) and the very OBVIUOUS fact that Obamas children bear a FAR more paternal resemblance to the right rev Wright than Stuttering John Obama...who we KNOW swings from the other side of the plate...

Ms Palin really should just chill. You start to look like you dont have a sense of humor after a while.

Check out Michelles fascination with Boob Belts...its funny...because waist belts wont stay down because of her GUYNORMOUS badonkadonk...

Wait...I just realized...Seth McFarland is doing the double slam...because MO-Bama looks just like Clevelands ex-wife! And Cleveland looks an awful lot like a young Rev...just sayin...

I honestly don't see the big deal. Family Guy crosses the line all the time. Their jokes are completely tasteless and do often go below the belt. This one was no exception. They make fun of everyone and have made it clear that there is no topic too taboo to go after. Why should Sarah Palin be an exception? If you don't like the jokes, don't watch the show. It just seems silly to me to get that bent out of shape over a stupid joke that was made on a cartoon show.

Best post in this thread:)

Think what you will of the show's quality - but it's still the highest-selling TV show on DVD in history. It's previous season it averaged about 8 million viewers a week in first run; about 4 million in reruns in syndication; and about 1 million on Adult Swim. It's also the second-most viewed show on HULU.

So, not even including internet viewings or DVD - on an average week, at least 13 million people watch Family Guy.

A little more than zero.

And once again, someone says something about her and she screams "Victim! Victim! Victim!"

I find it ironic since she said that Rush could say "retard" because "that's satire". But as show that IS satire can't do something that satirizes her.

She'll take ANY opportunity to point out how people attack her. She loves being the victim.

Here's an idea: If you can't stand the heat; get out of the kitchen. If you are in the public eye, people will be mean to you.

As far as I know, Obama doesn't Facebook the world every time someone calls him a name. Hell, even Bush could take the bile flung his way.

Palin? She cries on Facebook every time someone says her glasses are crooked.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

The show sucks anyway. Cartman is right.

Seriously, this wasn't even family guy making a joke about Sarah Palin.

How do I know?

Because it actually made sense in the realm of the story.

Now if they had Peter comment about the girlfriend going "Wow, she's dumber than an Alaskan with Down Syndrome" followed by a cut away to a shot of Sarah Palin going behind a podium at the convention going "You Betcha!".....THAT'D be a family guy joke.

Everyone knows the only jokes are the ones the manatee's create for cutaways

1-Im not a Palin fan
2-I agree...she isnt doing herself any favors and needs to grow a thick skin.
but...
3-Its NOT an attack on Palin...its a dig at her children.

There was a time when children were off limits in politics. By and large, democrat children are still off limits.

Having seen it, I didn't take it that way at all - and I come from a family with a severely mentally disabled member.

In fact, the character is portrayed as strong, beautiful (Chris has a crush on her), and having a bad personality NOT based on her condition.

As was stated in the other thread on this, the actress who portrayed the character has Downs Syndrome. She's saying, "Lighten up." And that the joke was meant toward Palin and not her son.

I seem to recall McCain calling Chelsea ugly; and I was little, but I remember a LOT of insults hurled at Amy Carter.

Just sayin'.

Re: Fox's 'Family Guy' takes on Sarah Palin by appearing to mock her son Trig's Down

Will Sarah Palin now quit her job on FOX News as a result of this? Or will she demand that Family Guy be cancelled? I predict that this could go either way but I doubt she'll quit her job on FOX.

The Palmreading Queen only raised this in trying to look like a victim AGAIN and gather more sympathy votes. I watched that episode and it did not look like they were making fun of Trig's Down Syndrome. Only Palmreaders Anonymous members would think that and then whine about it.

STOP that! You're not allowed to use facts to expose hypocrisy. Some folks will break out in hives.

Ohhhh...Wow. You proved a point.

Or - what is abundantly more clear - is that you didn't read what I was responding to; which was this:

"It used to be that politician's children were off limits."

So, I stated that Republicans used to pick on Chelsea Clinton and Amy Carter. Thus suggesting that people have been making fun of politician's children for at least a while.

So, who owns the EPIC FAIL?

Can I get you a mirror?
