Wow...just wow. I agree with the third comment (alcohol is a major factor in crime victimization of all kinds, not just rape), but the first two are just ridiculously repressed and smack of a kind of deep-seated bitterness towards women that I don't even know how to respond to.

Alcohol is a huge risk factor for rape. It is a factual point that women need to be extremely careful when consuming alcohol. But the rest is just misogynistic b.s.

    Let's spin it...

If men want to avoid being accused of rape, they should stop dressing like sluts and stop being pussy teases. Otherwise, they may get themselves into trouble.

Men who use the phrase "the weaker sex" are usually bitter because they can't get laid.

    What in the...

1n 2008, there was about a 1/3 of 1 % chance of being the victim of a violent crime. Now tell me again why I should have to carry a gun to feel safe.

I should be able to dress however I want without some asshole taking it as permission to rape. That is 100 % blaming the victim.

Using your logic, if I don't want to worry about rape, I just should never leave the house. I would be undeniably safer.

I feel safe without a gun. I feel even safer with one.

IMO, women aren't trained in self defense, enough. Primarily the use of improvised weaponry; what to use and how to use it.

When I was at Fort Hood, Texas A&M, Central Texas in Killeen and the Army put on a self defense program on campus for all the sororities. I taught one class and the first thing I did was empty out some random chick's purse and found about 8 different items that could be used as improvised weapons.

Most of the responses I got from those girls were, "gee, I never even thought about that".

This is the real world. There are bad people out there. Sometimes, we are forced to protect ourselves from violence with the use of violence.

I suspect if someone had tried it we'd be reading the coroner's inquest report

There is zero evidence that clothing style influences rape.

Apparently I'm a lot better than you when it comes to creating

Let's test that theory, shall we?

Men, if you don't want to be accused of rape, stop ****ing her if she passes out!

If you don't want to be accused of rape, stay away from jail bait!!

If you get her pregnant, and her husband (or father) finds out, that whore will say you raped her just to save face!! So use a goddamd condom!!

...or does that sound like ridiculously repressed and smack of a kind of deep-seated bitterness towards men that you don't even know how to respond to?

I guess it's because of my job, but I am exceptionally aware of my surroundings (of course, I work in dangerous cities, too, which makes a difference). I'm not scared of being victimized, but I am very cognizant of my own behavior and where I'm at. I think a lot of women are incredibly naive and/or stupid.

I live in a college town, and a significant percentage of college girls behave in really stupid ways.

I 100 % endorse self defense classes. Not so much due to the likelihood they will be necessary(which is very very small), but they are great for building self esteem, which is something that far too many women, especially younger ones, lack.

However, I again point out that the chance of being a victim of a violent crime is surprisingly small. Table 1 - Crime in the United States 2008
