I seem to remember a time when the mere fact a woman said "no" (and meant "NO") defined the boundaries - whatever the point in time in any sexual liasion. The man going beyond without permission was then commiting rape.

This latest survey seems to take backward steps for women and rape victims when it is widely acknowledged that prosections for rape in the UK have a poor record.

I'm sure this is some kind of feminist thing. It appears to be asking women to take better responsibility, but I think it's actually intended to "stupify" men by implying that men "can't control their urge to rape".

I'm going to steal a Corvette and sue the owner because it's his fault that he owns such a cool sports car, which therefore overpowered me with the temptation to steal it. If the guy didn't want his car stolen, it's his fault for owning a corvette, not mine for stealing it (any guy would do that).

That's not the intent at all.

Some men do rape, there is no changing that.
The world is not and will not be a perfect place.
Taking precautions is sometimes necessary.

Do you know that some women/men beat their children?
Crazy world we live in.

That's a bit overboard, you'd probably get beat up for wearing black face.

There is some minimum amount of understanding that there are places you shouldn't go to avoid trouble, as well as, certain people that may be more likely to do these acts.

It's not foolproof and does not excuse people who rape but there is some level of personal responsibility involved.

The thing is that a rapists who is looking for a victim is gonna find one. So your point is moot. All the actions in the world is not gonna stop the fact that someone is gonna be raped. Can you lower your risk by doing things that people feel is being pro-active? Sure. You can do that and fail or maybe get lucky they go onto someone else.

My thought is that if someone wishes you harm? It does not much matter what you are doing as they are gonna do it anyways. Sure we lock our doors and whatnot but that that does not prevent someone from breaking those things to get to you. Or maybe they will wait til they see you on the street and then get you. Thing is if there is a will there is a way and no amount of protection will protect you.

As someone pointed out to you sometimes having something to try to protect yourself can make it worse. What if I go for my gun, they take it and kill me? That gun sure helped me a lot, huh? :roll:
