Fox News Poll: Most Voters Say Allow Gays to Serve Openly

I did not say retirees I said Veterans, they can be any age probably about 22 and up.....I do think retirees should be polled to though.......I mean they poll they took was of people who were clueless about life in the military...If you can poll them then you can poll people who have been there and experienced
what its like,,,,,

There are a lot of retirees that are just as clueless about todays military as the people you diss.

Just because someone served years ago in the military doesn't mean that they understand the mindset of environment of the military today, just as civilians are not completely devoid of knowledge of the military environment.

You might be surprised how close a lot of us stay to what is going on in todays military at least the Navy.......We have reunions where we visit the ships......Some of us actually work for the Government and ride ships for tests as part of our job.....I notice you are not mentioning the poll that cpwill posted that showed activie duty personnel were aredently against removing DADT and some even wanted stricter rulings for gays...

It does not surprise me that you ignored that......

Name one thing he has accomplished in his year in office?

Yeah that is him......I think the military screwed up when they discharged him..In any case he is and officer.....His own room and shower....

Man you have to get over this ship stateroom thing. The services are different and all of the rules apply to Army officers, just as they do NCOs and Soldiers. I know you can only speak from what you've observed in your foxhole, but to insinuate that the rules are bent for him because he's an officer is not rooted in much logic, specifically because according to you that he has his "own room and shower".

I can only speak for the Navy but on our ships officers have their own staterooms and private showers, hardly what the crew has....The rules are not bent....that is how it is.........

Yeah, but this guy is not in the Navy and is an Infantry officer.

Not sure what the stateroom/shower example is supposed to portray?

I don't know what you meant by that other than you mention it constantly...

In his first year of office, there have been no successful terrorist attacks against the United States of America.

Interestingly enough, the last president couldn't claim as much.

You are dismissing the Ft. Hood incident?.....:3oops:
How soon we forget.......:doh

Ok, if you want to call a shooting by a US soldier against other US soldiers a "terrorist attack", then I'll amend what I said by saying...

In his first year of office, there have been no successful terrorist attacks against civilians.

Better?

Furthermore, is it your official position that US soldiers can be considered terrorists?

He was connected to radical Islamists.

Official: Nidal Hasan Had "Unexplained Connections" - ABC News

A senior government official tells ABC News that investigators have found that alleged Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan had "more unexplained connections to people being tracked by the FBI" than just radical cleric Anwar al Awlaki. The official declined to name the individuals but Congressional sources said their names and countries of origin were likely to emerge soon.
Brian Ross investigates possible missed signals leading to Fort Hood massacre.

Questions already surround Major Hasan's contact with Awlaki, a radical cleric based in Yemen whom authorities consider a recruiter for al Qaeda. U.S. officials now confirm Hasan sent as many as 20 e-mails to Awlaki. Authorities intercepted the e-mails but later deemed them innocent or protected by the first amendment.

Its off topic in this thread, but if you are interested, you can go here to see a few of his accomplishments:

You want to get and accurate poll? Poll the people it affects...Veterans and acttive duty military.....Make a separate poll for the Navy.....I guarentee you will get a much different result......

As a veteran, I disagree. I wouldn't mind serving with gays so long as they were pulling their weight and not practicing their "sexuality" in my presence.

What about that muslim army officer that killed 13 people at Fort Hood?

How short your memory is....

There were civilians wounded in that attack at Ft. Hood......What are you going to amend now?

The Ft Hood shootings were the acts of a single madman, not a planned, concerted "terrorist" attack.

THat is why when he was shooting he hollered Ali Akbar? You lefttes are in a total state of denial....I don't know when your going to wake up and realize we are in a war against terror.....It better be soon.....

Thank you for your service......what ships did you serve on? as a veteran you must realize the military is there to fight your wars and not to conduct social experimentation and that the most important thing is unit cohesion and morale.......without those 2 elements you can not succeed?
