Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children. ~ Ancient American Indian Proverb
No one is a better judge of what the military can handle in regards to gays being members right now than those that are in it right now, and next to that are those that are most likely to be in it in the future.
If 80% of Veterans said "NO GAYS IN THE MILITARY!" and 80% of the current military said "Gays in the Military" than frankly I would say "Too bad, so sad" to the veterans because they're not the people its affecting, and I don't care how much they may be "experienced" with the military, the people actively doing it are the best judge of if they're fine with having gays or not serving next to them.

It's horrifying because Trump is blunt instead of making overt implications.
"No religion is true, but some religion, any religion, is politically necessary. Law and morality are insufficient for the large majority of men. Obedience to the law and to the morals are insufficient for making men happy. […]Law and morality are therefore in need of being supplemented by divine rewards and punishments."

The ghost of Jack Kevorkian for President's Physician: 2016
The poll results do not surprise me at all. What surprises me is that FAUXNews released the results. That goes against their propaganda plan and could quite possibly alienate some in their flock.
Besides, no one gives polls any credibility, regardless of who conducts the poll, when the poll doesn't reflect their opinion or their view of reality.
What DID surprise me was Dick Cheney on television this morning saying that the only poll that should matter is how the miltary feels about it themselves as it directly affects their job thus affecting national security. My surprise was that I agree with him.
And because the chiefs in uniform are now stating that the military can handle it, (it being a generational thing with today's service men and womens attitudes that are more gay tolerant) Cheney thinks it's time to drop the restrictions on gays serving in the US.
And I agreed with him again. That's TWICE! Tell me that isn't purely shocking.
